No it's an 8-track. That's how we used to get dysentery in Oregon Trail.

Srsly people, those floppies are legitimately cool.  Not just because nostalgia.  It's pretty impressive to see all the content CPT crammed into that 1.44MB.   (no sarcasm)

I hope all you early donors have a way to access it.  :)

When I was much younger I used to do alot of writing for various things. I had all my word files on a single floppy disk that I would take with me from system to system. All the word docs were password protected incase I misplaced it. When one filled up I archived it and copied the file I was actively working on to a new disk. I'm sure I still have a box full of these somewhere.

When USB drives came along it blew my mind.

Does anyone remember that old "Boot n Nuke" disk that would reformat your hard drive automatically if you booted from it?  Haha, those were the days.

They've got a limited stock at each PO you go to. They definitely didn't have em at the store I went to and they don't have em online anymore.

Edit: jk, they still have it online but I wanted that instant gratification :(. I should order a bunch when I run low for next time.

So just to float this out there, I make the zines off of donations. I blew through like $140 in shipping and stamps in the last two days. Every two Volumes weighs an ounce. So if I mail 4 Volumes out, I need to use two stamps. On international shipments, that adds up fast.

I have enough of a buffer to mail out Vol 5 and possibly Vol 6. I'm exploring ideas and getting stuff together to be able to start selling some Tactile products. Hopefully ya'll will be interested and will help me by buying some goodies.

In the mean time, if you like what I'm doing and you'd like to see more zines, please consider donating. There's a donation link in the OP but I discovered that Paypal takes a small percentage of each donation there. It's minimal but I would get the full amount if you gift me the donation at CPTBadAss@geekhack.org. Whichever method you decide and is easier though, that will be fine.

I really appreciate it. In case you want to know where your money is going: I have a separate bank account and card for the funds (American Express Bluebird) that I don't use for anything else. I also keep track all the donations and how I spend it. I can provide the spreadsheet upon request.

Thanks for reading Tactile and I hope to continue this into 2016 and further.

TL:DR - Please consider donating. Especially if you've said you would be haven't yet already. This is a continual thing and a one time donation is wonderful (and genuinely appreciated) but I need funds to continue making this happen.

Oh and I'm working on getting a way to thank all my donators. Tiered and all. So if you donated once, you get something. And you donated a couple times, you get something else. And if you donated multiple times, you get something else else. I hope it'll be as cool in execution as it is in my head.

So, since PayPal won't let me set up a recurring donation from my side, I just set up a recurring check payment via my online banking. I get paid every two weeks, and you'll get a donation check sent directly from my bank to your address on the same schedule. Hope this works for you. :)

I wanted to setup a recurring donation so I won't forget to donate.

Actually, you will be getting a physical check in the mail. ;)

LOL, I dig it. I can't pull off writing checks myself but I'm stoked to get a check. Never had one mailed to me before.

I didn't even know you could you send money from a bank to a Paypal address @.@. TIL.

Works for me :D. Thank you.

So I've got this fun thing where my bank's app let's me scan checks and it gets loaded into my bank account pretty fast. That app is fun but I don't get many checks...bring on the checks haha.

Mine has that too but they charge $.50 per check...I don't get it. I'm saving them work!!

Still cheaper than PayPal, probably.

I bet that $0.50/check goes to the app developer, who coded it into the software. MUAHAHAHAHA! Yeah right, greedy banks.
