Any thoughts on using linear switches on these boards? I know aluminum is not ideal but I think these plates are thicker than usual. Anyone tried linears on aluminum plated korean boards?

I use an aluminum plate in my Octagon v2. They are just fine for linear switches. The difference is really quite small.

Yeah, you'll probably have to get a plate made. Shouldn't be too hard though, considering how simple the design is for the plate.

You need the plate as the PCB floats. The top is optional, but the case will look odd without it.

Someone already mentioned this is NOT possible by omitting the plate. Would also be a shame to build this beauty with no plate

You can however saw into the plate a little and mod it for split left shift. I did that for the TX1800 and it works great. You will have all the keys you need for ISO but with an ANSI enter cluster. I can live with that.
