While both sets may incorporate vibrant/neon colors, the main colors are different, Cubed's is purple and mine is blue, it is evident to anyone with an eye for detail that they are not identical. The selection and arrangement of colors in GMK Pixel Platoon were meticulously chosen, resulting in a unique aesthetic that sets it apart from any other design, including Cubed. I assume the base render isn't final here as the R2 is in R3 position and missing R4. The 1U pipe key is in the wrong place next to the R4[<>] key. It would be R3.Thank you for your feedback, I am working now on better kitting to satisfy each one of you!

Obviously ankit is correct about everything here. I was just about to post the 4 first comments myself.
However, as for the redundant Alt, you could make it into an "Alt Gr"/"Alt Graph" key, which is used by _every country in the world except the US_.

Also, a few other comments, all on base set but some of them also apply to both base + invader set
1. The legends on the 1.25u and 1.75u Shift keys are both misaligned vertically
2. The legends on the 1.75u Shift key are probably slightly misaligned horizontally
3. Tilde is slightly too large
4. Top hat ^, star *, hash # are misaligned on the numrow keys
5. Either exclamation point is too small or @ is too large
6. Top hat ^ is probably slightly too large
7. 1.25u Control + Super + Alt legends are not aligned vertically with eachother
8. Arrow symbols on Tab
9. Numpad 2u vertical + legend is too large
10. 1u Alt legend is not aligned with 1u Ctrl legend
11. Question mark ? on the R3 ?/ key seems kind of thin
12. {} symbols seem thin and slightly too high vertically, or slightly too large
13. R1 and R3 1u |\ keys don't match R2 1.5u |\ key legend thickness
14. Lettering on R3 stepped Caps Lock has wrong kerning or something

Also it might be a good idea to include 2x invaders for all rows in the arsenal set. I'm not sure, but at least I need 2x R1 1u's without a window because no base set + nordeuk set covers everything I need for R1.

Honestly, not a fan of the ”insert coin” caps locks. Would much rather just have a regular windowed/stepped windowed one.

As someone waiting for a few GB's from them, what is the recent drama with Mechs and co people keep bringing up? Should I be worried about it?
In a nutshell, they were in charge of two keyboard GB's that went to GB several months ago (Loki65 and Saveus Cor65xt), and after collecting everyone's money that bought into both GB's, they failed to ever pay the manufacturer any money at all to start any work on either project. The designers and other vendors that were involved with both projects reached out more times than I can count to get updates, and they were all strung along by M&C giving them lots of false promises such as "I'll pay them by the end of the week", or "I have to check with the team on the status of things". However, most of the time they didn't receive any responses at all, especially in the last month or so, and both GB's had to be cancelled as a result. To date, M&C has only refunded a handful of people from both GB's to my knowledge, and the overwhelming majority of all others that joined those GB's haven't received a penny back or even a response to their messages or emails. I know because I'm one of the buyers in the Saveus Cor65xt that requested a refund well over a week ago, but haven't heard a single word back yet. I also have several other keycap GB's I bought through them, which I'm now very concerned about as I'm wondering if I'll ever receive any of them.
All of the above is pretty much what very publicly transpired recently, and while I don't have any physical proof of this, It seems like they have some serious cash flow issues going on there and possibly some serious mismanagement of money collected for Group Buys they're running, and they got caught in a situation that they couldn't get out of since they seem to not have any cash left in the business to pay the manufacturers, refund customers, or use for anything else for that matter. It's unfortunately not looking good at all, and I'm worried I'm going to end up losing all the money I paid to them if they end up going under.....

The renders appear to show two different legend colors. What is the actual intended color? The bright white contrast or the more muted gray?
Kit renders show exactly how it will be. Brighter than in board renders! I used different types of lighting for board renders so you see how colors would look in a more dark environment for example!

I truly think that smaller projects like this which are unlikely to sell many hundreds should consider alternative manufacturers, honestly. Such as for example Key Kobo or really just anyone else. Not that I think this is doomed or anything, in fact I quite like it. But a different manu could be sold as preorder or in-stock which seems to be the trend of things lately (disclosure: I said the same thing in the GMK Bim thread).On one hand, this is true. On the other hand, any manufacturer that isn’t GMK is pretty much an instant turn off for me.

So the set was scheduled to run in September… it’s now nearly November. Did this get pushed back or is it just dead in the water at this point? Any update would be great.
Due to manufacturing costs, the designer is currently switching over to DCX through Drop from GMK. Set is still planned to be produced afaik.

I'm back! Sorry for going MIA for a bit there. Life threw some stuff my way, but it's all sorted now, and I'm ready to roll with some cool updates.
So, here's the scoop: we had to shake things up a bit with the set. GMK was throwing some crazy prices at us, so we shifted gears and handed the set over to DCX. It's pretty much the same ABS material, though. And don't worry, vendors in other regions are still in the game, ready to sell the set.
Got some fresh kit renderings in the works too. They'll be swapping out the old ones ASAP.

Drop is 99% the same as any vendor, except they are OWNED by CORSAIR and never scammed anyone. over the last 7 years I spent more than $18,000 EUR on massDrop and every single time they put a product out there it was either delivered in perfect conditions, delivered with delays, delivered with problems & rectified/refunded or cancelled & refunded altogether and I speak from my own experience importing stuff from their site
even more ironic is that DROP OWNS GEEKHACK and projected the MK hobby into a whole new level on the USA. companies like GMK, Novel Keys, Omnitype, Oblotzky, Rama OWE a huge part of their business to Drop because it was on DROP that they they got REAL exposure, CAPITAL or built part of their reputations and business relationships with customers and suppliers. Rama, Novelkeys and Omnitype did collabs with Drop and Oblotzky was just a keycap designer there before he decided to make his own company. GMK probably sold a trillion sets on that site by now. if it wasn't for Drop the ENTIRE MK space would be on a microscopical level still, but you probably don't remember when they sold Pokers and MX Clears for the 1st time, or when they launched GMK Carbon with the 1st set of NOVELTY keycaps made by GMK ever MADE
maybe once you get scammed BIG TIME you will learn that drop is legitimate and almost every "vendor" out there is a ticking bomb one mistake away from falling apart and running away with your money
keep it up OP and DROP, I'm in for one of each kit, also please make a deskmat

I don't think anyone is making the argument that DCX is taking over as the gold standard for keycaps, but they're great caps, with solid base kitting at a solid price (assuming community backed DCX kits launch at the same pre-order/early bird pricing model as their main line stuff). I'm sure most of the people that pop in here to diss Drop, have never tried DCX and never had intention of joining the GB anyways, or pop in to ask for some obscure kitting on a set that they're not actually interested in.
Competition is great and GMK hasn't been free from imperfections recently anyways at a much higher price tag. I am curious if the current DCX pricing and kitting would be consistent for community backed DCX sets because if so, and if the turnaround time is reasonable, I don't see any reason they couldn't be a major player.
I'd much rather designers get to make their set happen and have it be more accessible for more people, rather than forcing it through GMK because a few elitist purists want to buy a GMK base kit so they can leave it sealed on their shelf.

I think this set was a comission, BOOPER didn't make interest checks as far as I know, I follow her on instagram and only learned about this set when it showed on Drop's email marketing
it was HOFFMANMYSTER who made the post you linked, I think BEAR is talking about designer sets that come to fruition thanks to interest checks + community interest, DCX Rocky Bird will be the first by ARQKEEBS, then Pixel Platoon by NUKZ / Bim by BALANCE, all posted by their artists

But judging by the OP those are the same deskmats that Nukz posted back in 2023-06-02.
I am just curious can you point to some other deskmats that have used the kind of fabric you're talking about because you made me want to try it, and I'm not from the US so I have no idea what you're talking about lol
Also Nukz it would be awesome if you could confirm that this set will come with NorDeUK even with DCX, because if not I'll need to pull the trigger on some alternative keycaps quite quickly for an upcoming build.

Unlikely since GMK Polybius already has that, but I wouldnt say no to it :)
