I don't care either way about the macro column. The huge bezels look great either way. As long as there is an HHKB option, and huge bezels, I'm happy.
Actually, i like it better without the macro column.
It seems that hhkb layout is not an option anymore

Well, that is lame. Super bummer.

Yes, I don't understand why people not chosen it. I wasn't aware of the IC, so I cannot express my opinion, my bad.

Well, that is REALLY lame. Super bummer. God dammit.

Jacky has not chosen the layout options yet, even the form result shows WKL > HHKB. It might have been tough choice for him also because originally it's only listed to support WK and HHKB.

There is no accounting for taste unfortunately. Functionality aside, HHKB is clearly the most aesthetic layout, objectively speaking of coarse.... ...LOL (I kid, I kid)

The original form only asked about color preference.
A lot of people, including me, didn’t get to vote on the layout.
That part of the survey is flawed.

Wasn't the form fixed the day it came out? It was also up for a while so you could have resubmitted it.

Maybe?
I didn’t know it was fixed until the results were published and I’ve been trying to follow this ic closely, so I’m sure I’m not the only one.

I see. I also submitted the form the day it came out but I guess by the time I got to it it was already fixed. Hopefully Jacky will be able to do all three even though its stated that only two will be made!

Just came across this and very new to it. Is purchase predicated on having filled out the form, or will the opportunity to be part of the buy in still be available later?

Sorry for such a basic question. Thanks.

New updated :

More real photo :https://imgur.com/gallery/NOhk0vS

GB Time: May 7 ~ May 9
Layout: WK, HHKB
Color: E-beige, Purple, Red, E-white, PC
Quantity and Lead Time: TBD, will determine GB format (unlimited/limited, how many limited) 3 days before GB, in order to have a lead time 4 months -> shipping in September.

Price: base kit price will be $418 (only $10 higher than Bear + pp fee , even Piggy used more material for its big bezel. Additionally, the aluminum material cost increased a lot as well as the exchange rate of RMB to USD changed a lot for the past year, which contributed to higher cost of the board). Prices for extra plates, pcb, etc will be announced 3 days before GB.

Prototype units: we just shipped 5 proto units (e-white, 2 * e-beige, purple, pc) to twitch streamers and YouTubers. Once they receive them next week, stream will be scheduled ASAP, so you might see those streams and videos late April or early May. All schedules will be added or updated once we have more details.

How to achieve 4-month lead time: my previous GB Bear schedule was delayed for 2-3 months due to COVID affecting CNY as well as factory arrangement. This time I already contacted the factory to start manufacturing process right after prototypes are verified by streamers, so when GB is happening, those boards are under way being made.

Next round? Extras?: same as Bear, we won’t have R2 nor extras for Piggy, so this chance might be your last chance to get this board.

HHKB! HELL YEAH!
If there is not ever going to be an R2, PLEASE make it unlimited! Or at least enough to where it won't sell out in a minute... I NEED one of these!
Please no stupid raffle... i still blows my mind that there are really people that prefer raffles, solely becasue it makes them feel special for getting something with a limited number... sooooooo pa-the-tic.

Completely agree I didn’t get into keyboards until after the S7 Elephant and wanted one so bad.  Now that this is coming out I gotta have those bezels!  I don’t even care about a 4 month lead time I’d definitely wait longer than that to get one of its unlimited, or at least a higher limited number. Not really wanting to pay a $1200 aftermarket price!

i think 4 months is a pretty decent time frame. Most these Gb's take longer then that, sometimes A LOT longer.

Due to international shipping backlog and delay, streamers will receive their prototype units later than expected. We will delay the GB time to: 3 days after all 4 streamers having their streams for Piggy (around mid May), we will finalize the streaming schedule and GB date ASAP. For latest streamers' schedules you can check discord

Regarding GB purchase details

Everything known so far (as of 05/03/2021):
- No regional vendors, it will be hosted in Jacky's Shopify store
- Only PayPal will be supported. No Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay. Direct checkout from product page is disabled, you have to add item to cart and then check out.
- Shipping will not be collected at GB time, it will be collected at shipping time (ship from China HK)
- GB units will be FCFS with soft cap in order to have 4-month lead time.
- 5 Color confirmed for regular version: E-white, E-beige, Red, Purple, PC.
- Regular version base kit $418
- Extra parts (Extra PCB, Extra Plate, Extra Weight, Extra Foam, Extra Gasket, etc) will be opened 10 mins before GB so that you can add them to cart and once GB opens you just need to add the base kit (choose your options there) to cart and check out.
          * Extra parts are not necessary, but always good practice to have at least one extra PCB as "long term insurance"
- For the base kit, you will need to choose the following options on the page 1. Color, 2. Case (WK, HHKB) 3. Plate, 4. Weight, 5. PCB (hotswap or solder), 6. Inner Frame.
          * Failing to choose any one of these will cause your order getting canceled.
- During first hour of GB, only 2 GB units can be ordered per household.
          * If you have two people live in same household, it's okay to have two orders. But it is still better to be in one order to reduce shipping in the future, it's less likely we would allow combined shipping later.
- After first hour, no limit per household.
- All orders are final, no cancellation nor modifications. Confirm all the details before completing the order!!!

Things TBA:
- Sale format of limited full brass option
- Quantity of GB
- Exact time of GB
- Website address of Jacky's Shopify store
- Options and Price of upgrade options and extra parts

Hi everyone. Really excited about this keyboard. Saw it on Mechmerlins video. Sorry if these are newbee questions but in looking at the pictures and the pcb layout images I have a couple of questions.

1.) For the PCB choices with the Hot Swap I can have it with any of the bottom row options in the picture or only the ones next to the text that says "Hot Swap".

2.) I see the 2 layout options and did not know the difference between WK & HHKB Layout options.  Which ones would they be in the photos?

3.) In looking at the photos I see some with a smaller bottom row that has less keys on it and is not as wide as the rest of the rows. Is that the difference in the PCB choice or the Layout option?

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. I hope I can snag one of these when the GB goes live.

1. Only the layout next to the one that says hotswap (fixed layout)

2. WK is full width bottom row. WK means Win-key, referring to the fact that the bottom row modifiers includes the Windows/command key.

3. The layout with fewer keys in the bottom row is HHKB layout. HHKB is actually a board but it’s layout is so iconic that people just refer to the layout this way.

1. Hotswap PCB imgur link has all the option you can use
2. HHKB is the one has corner blockers
3. PCB is the same
