« on: Sun, 26 January 2020, 18:21:42 »
If it says extra virgin olive oil on the label,   Then that's gud' 2 go?

Are there any other attributes need be considered ?

Tp4 Not picky on taste,  Just dun' wanna be poisoned by refined-oil additives.

So far I am just getting a taste, but I like Nunez de Prado fine, COR is unremarkable, and Merula, I like so far, maybe more so than Nunez de Prado. I was wondering of all the available ones, which should I try out next?

a while back in europe a company was caught putting more that i think it was 10% motor oil in their extra virgin olive oil, so extra virgin does no mean extra pure (i do not even know what it means anymore)

Do some research, many brands don't use pure or high quality olive oil. Some have been proven to actually be presses of the leftovers from other producers that are used and old. Sometimes pressed pits which give a sour taste, or cut it with cheaper oil.

You wanna be sure it is 100% olive oil, and preferably first press.

In short: The label means nothing, you actually need to do a small amount of legwork. But once you know the brands it's easy.

yeah the thing that gets out of car engines (other sources available) (and you don't even need to press it), it might have only been rumors heard of it on the radio at the time, and did not see this brand on shelves for a bit after.
