That looks great!

The whole picture is just so relaxing to look at :)

Is the case very slightly subtly pink?  Or just reflection from the desk?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Just got the red translucent, damn it, & panic keys in from pimpmykeyboard. Customer service for them was amazing as I picked the wrong row originally for the arrow keys, but they were more than happy to change it before my package went out.

Also got a pink OOPS! key that now occupies my switch tester.

But they're really tight aren't they? Too tight to fit into my clear switches  :(

I nearly didn't get it - I had a list of little extras added to my order, but the total cost was a bit too much, so I stripped a bunch out but left this one in.  It's quite a nice yellow :)

I think what he meant isn't sandblasting with sandblaster
There is a type of sandblasting with sort of a sheet of textured attachment and stick on the surface you want
I do that with some of my window glasses and it's tidy

Im confused what you refered too jurik, (clear stick on sheets with 'sanblasted/matt' look?) but I kinda think Yuktsi did mean sandblasting.

Isn't there loads of very different ways of blasting with various materials, and sand blasting is just a very general term for this?
Pretty sure there is very different styles as I used to intern at a company that blasted stainless steal with some sort of (metal?) granulate.

So I don't think every type of sandblasting would destroy the acrylic surface it just depends on the type. Blasting with a metal granulate they use for stainless steal would most likely turn the acrylic into swiss cheese as you said tho xD

Edit: Totally forgot to comment on how awesome that build is metalliqaz! Love the Layout, and especially the pcb design looks very very clean! Great Job man, Love your Build!

Converted one of my Unicomp M-122's from ISO to ANSI while performing a screw mod. Right now I'm borrowing some keys from another ANSI Model M. Actually, this may be the wrong thread because I think I took more keys away than I added.

I'm still playing with the layout. I'm going to look into how other folks are using their extra keys and steal their good ideas. Once I get that all ironed out I'll probably order a custom replacement keyset from Unicomp.

Nicely done!

Any problems with the ISO to ANSI conversion?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Well, I didn't have enough stabilizer inserts so I had to steal them from my other PC-122. I'll buy some replacements from Unicomp soon. I also discovered that the black and white stabilizer barrel inserts are actually two different parts. The black inserts have their hole slightly offset from center. This is used for the ISO enter and the 2U vertical keys, but everything else (shifts, ANSI enter) uses the white inserts.

First time around, I forgot about the 2U vertical numpad + key. I realized it after screwing everything back together. I did not want to unscrew the whole plate/membrane sandwich assembly again, so I tried a quick fix. I just unscrewed behind the numpad + nav cluster (about a dozen screws). Since the + key is all the way on the edge, I was able to pry the barrel plate back enough to get a pair of fine needle-nose pliers in there and remove the spring hammer, and screw it all back together without incident.

I am awaiting a Teensy in the mail so I can build a Soarer's converter, so I really haven't used the board much. But so far, so good.

Good to hear!

I was aware of the vertical vs. horizontal barrel inserts :)

Those blanks look great mogo! I think the tenkey is the best part of the 1976 set though tbh.
