I can't seem to find the "non pcb 60% version" in the store. Or is that the one that costs 140 eur?

The bottom right one, here's the link: https://heavymetalkeyboards.com/collections/groupbuy/products/hmkb-60s

Is it possible to get updated #s for the GB? Just curious how this GB is doing.

Am I the only one excited to hear some initial sales numbers? :)

Preparing some updates for next week.
Regarding the numbers, we are at 450 orders so far. That is about what I had expected. The prices of the cases are set for an moq of 400+, anything below that would have been bad news.

Soldering is a boring skill, gets old pretty quickly. Desoldering ... is still so much fun for me as all I have is a solder sucker pump thing, no fancy FR301 desoldering stations (cause they are vvv expensive).

My current score is 2 PCBs ruined and 1 preserved lol
[/quote]

I picked up one of these and it was 100% worth the price, turned a multi hour ordeal into an effortless 10min job. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HIPPO-150W-Desoldering-Rework-Iron-Station-Digital-De-Soldering-Gun-Dual-LCD-AU-/142158805635

The moq for current prices and ALL THAT VARIETY is just 400? Insane. Whatever you have going for your manufacturing/logistics, I'm really impressed. Glad to be a part of this GB.

Nice job.  Great selection and options.  Going with a custom PCB was really smart.  Tempted to pick up a TKL in stainless!

But why would I do that?
I had stated, that the GB will run for one month, just like all others do (ok, there may have been a few exceptions). Nothing has changed.
GMK keycap GBs also don't stop when they hit MOQ. At that point production just went from not being economically viable to just OK.

So if you are considering to join the GB but are not sure about which version, size or color to choose, take your time, no need to hurry.

I got in contact with Energieschleuder who is currently running the GMK Masterpiece GB. Made some new renderings. Here you can see GMK Masterpiece on an HMKB-60 stainless steel:

Btw, I tried stainless steel screws for this scene. Included will be the black ones.

Looks like I'm in for a wild ride.
I have never built a mechanical keyboard myself and originally wanted to start with a HS PCB to make things a little easier.
Just bought a yellow 75%, it was just too tempting to let this pass. Which reminds me, I need some soldering equipment too ...

I already joined! I had asked that question because of what was on the GB page.

The order phase is open for about one month or until a sufficient amount of orders is reached.

I wasnt sure if "sufficient amount" was MOQ or you had a target order # past the MOQ.

TRUE!
Yes, sorry, I absolutely wrote "sufficient amount".
This was more meant as a backdoor for me to keep the GB open a bit longer in case I would struggle to get past MOQ. But this is behind us now, so for now it is just "end of this month".
Again, sorry.

Let's set an end date now:
June 2nd

To be honest, I also was quite worried about GB closing early due to "sufficient amount" remark. I mean, if that were true and GB would be closed when targeted amount of orders reached, I would be missing out on this as I am yet to receive the paycheck. I see no reason to being this sarcastic as many people are already struggling due to corona and actually need safe amount of spending money before jumping on every GB.

On the topic of screws, black being included is probably the best/most fitting option since you selected them. But let's say I want to explore other options/colors, I can recall that there has been mention of them all being M3. What I could not find though are the actual lengths, since the sides and top does seem to be different, at least in the exploded view/graphic. Do you mind sharing the lengths?

Yes, they are all M3.
The length of the eight screws needed for the top mounting is 14mm, 15mm will most likely also fit.
For the screws at the sides and the back 8mm is optimal.

Why is the brass plate for the HMKB 40 sold out?

And more importantly, why am I interested in buying a 4x12 ortho keyboard when I already have two Plancks and a Plaid?

First: It's not sold out, there never was a brass plate for the 40 even though the shop shows it. Technical reasons I guess.

And Second: Because the Plancks and Plaid aren't HEAVY METAL KEYBOARDS, of course.

HMKB-40 does not have the regular switch distance of 19.05mm. It is 19.00 because it is made for the Eon40 PCB.
The HMKB-40 is only available as kit with the Eon40 PCB.

That means it actually is compatible with the Planck. The reason I'm asking is that I have hotswap Planck PCBs, which I could then use instead or until I decide on a switch to use with the case.

The GMK Masterpiece renderings I did had a few little mistakes. Also I find it hard to simulate the bead blasted stainless steel in the renderings. Here are new renders, HMKB-60 HHKB this time. Only the photos in the start post can show you how stainless steel really looks like.
