wow this reminded me of something my friend shawn did years ago... he had a crappy nokia phone and one day he dug out a little hole in a baguette and stuffed the phone in it, creating BREADPHONE. he carried the baguette around for like a week and anytime he'd get a call he'd say "hold on, gotta take this call on the BREADPHONE".

Space is big. Really big. You just won’t believe how vastly hugely mindboggingly big it is. I mean you may think it’s a long way down the road to the chemist, but that’s just peanuts to space.

After a while the style settles down a bit, and starts telling you things you really need to know.

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

when did GH get so edgy?

http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=46111.0

my favorite part is this:

Quote
I wish I was spoiled and rich... and in a month, wish I was under 21 again. But alas working part-time bringing in just under $400 a week is all a college kid can ask for. I'm just lucky enough to have an expenditure budget that allowed me to buy one CC. Unfortunately, the people who revolve, and circlejerk, and cry, and *****, and moan, and complain, and annoy the **** out of me over these little pieces of plastic is enough to make me want to destroy them. Besides, being out $40 is replaceable, a burning dramaclack is priceless. I'm sorry that me having fun instead of whining about how I didn't get in the most recent 4grabs, or about how someone won't sell me their rare keycaps makes me seem like a spoiled rich white kid.

You keep on riding that high horse there buddy.

#rustled

Quote
also, holy ****, you have made me reach critical mass ekw.

**** you for calling me an attention ****, for posting one thread about me destroying a clack when there are some ****s who will post the same picture to 4 different threads because they got a clack in the mail on their qfr. those people are attention ****s. I'm just having some ****ing fun in my own thread and you know what, I wanted to destroy a clack yesterday, so I ****ing did it. boo ****ing who. I could have posted this to every ****ing thread on this ****-community forum "HUEHUHEUEHLOOKWHATIDID" but instead I kept it to one single thread HOPING, NAY, PRAYING, to keep *******s like you out of my ****.

Seriously, **** off, please. I seriously don't care about how much better you are than me because you have a collection of plastic skulls.

the edge in these replies is too much!!!

look at him, so against the grain. spent money to burn something that a good percentage of people don't give a **** about. such anarchy!

and, at the end of the day, life still went on. but keep fighting the good fight Che!
No, he’s not around. How that sound to ya? Jot it down.

I am totally cool with the comments to me above, and took them in a spirit of good humour, and replied likewise.

No harm done :)

the edge in these replies is too much!!!

look at him, so against the grain. spent money to burn something that a good percentage of people don't give a **** about. such anarchy!

and, at the end of the day, life still went on. but keep fighting the good fight Che!

Looks as if some of my edge is rubbing off onto you there buddy. Maybe you should stop following me around for fear of hurting yourself or your keyboards.

#'s 9 and 27 from the above: love 'em. Those are classic.

Oh, and the one about the Fly/Walk insect and "What was the best thing before sliced bread." That one made me wonder a bit. Really, what was the best thing before sliced bread? Matches? Running water?

And now that sliced bread kind of sucks, what's the best thing sliced bread started sucking?

^ That is slightly disturbing.

Watermelon only has one "l".
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Man, I have dreamed about going to tomorrowland since I first heard/saw the trailer for it a few years ago. I've always wanted to go to Europe and Belgium especially, so if I were to go to tomorrowland it would be mental

no shows/festivals in america compare to Uk/European Festivals...it's a dream of mine as well to go haha

we are going to Electric Adventure next week, which should be kinda fun  :))
