Then you will just have to wait for awhile till you can earn yourself some money for that :D

To all the YOTS owners, do you feel any different typing on the Alu frame with plastic base? Or it is really just for the cosmetic?
No difference between typing on YOTS and typing on the plastic frame ducky shine2.
What differed is the overall built quality between the two. YOTS looks better built to me.
Ok, thanks for the reply, that's what I thought as well.

Yes, they did, and there was a whole thread whinging about it.  That is why I wondered if this was a darker purple, or actually blue.  Blue it is.

Do the caps lock and scroll lock keys have small holes in them to let the LED shine through?

Yeah. WASD, Caps and Scroll lock each have a blue LED. The caps and scroll lock have the little clear circle but you can feel some roughness around the outer circle. =/

I know it says MX White on the box but those are clears right? White's would be clicky and have a small nub on top.

Even Ducky reps can be wrong :)

Ducky Nordic linking the Pro PBT keyboard with gray dye sub caps down the page, saying those were MX Whites:
http://deskthority.net/marketplace-f11/ducky-nordic-keyboards-keycaps-projects-and-misc-stuff-t4718-360.html
(down the page, there are photos showing Clears--no nubs and some trasnslucency)

I posed inquiring about those being Clears instead of Whites... and their nordic vendor partner said they were Whites too, heh...

Quote from: teraset
Quote from: Photoelectric
Quote from: teraset
For some reason in Taiwan MX White is indeed sometimes used to refer to Clear and instead milky White is used when referred to true soft click 85g switch type. The currently available Ducky G2Pro dyesub thick PBT darkgray model is true MX White (model DK9008G2Pro-WFIPHH) although the click is indeed very subtle compared to MX Blue or Green.

Edit. To demonstrate how difficult it's to see the difference from pics, here are a few taken from Shine2 Special 78 model.

I was going by the fact that previous Ducky models were listed with MX Whites but then turned out to have MX Clears.  That, in combination with what the Facebook text says, indicates MX Clears.  But if you've actually opened up and looked at the switches and guarantee that they are MX White, I'll take your word for it!

P.S.: The photo I linked is from Ducky Nordic, and it does look more Clear than White to me, as the switches have some translucency.

Can't say for sure, but it just might be that on that Facebook text they were actually referring to models with MX Clear as there seem to be at least ANSI layout versions available in States for G2Pro dyesub Dark grey with Cherry MX Clear switches (55g tactile). Although global Ducky Keyboard Facebook page has often usefull information, some of it might not be valid for us here in the Nordic area.

And it is true that previously there has been some confusion about this same thing. For that special G2Pro TKL Tactile with mixed Cherry MX Brown/Clear (shadow caps) it read in the box that it would have MX White although they were that time actually referring to MX Clear. So yes, it makes perfect sense to wonder about this and double check before buying whether the keyboard has tactile 55g or (soft) clicky 85g switch :)

Btw, this is a pretty nice wiki entry for different type of Cherry MX switches: http://deskthority.net/wiki/Cherry_MX

So they insisted that the Pro dye sub PBT Ducky had MX Whites in it, when it actually had Clears--as even demonstrated by the photos (and our ANSI version had Clears as well, as sold by MK.com).  So lesson is: have to do your own thorough investigation sometimes when it comes to differentiating Whites from Clears.  Even the people you think should be correct can be mistaken.

Yeah, they're Clears.
There has been some confusion 'bout Whites and Clears in my neck of the woods, even the local Ducky distributor had it wrong when he told me they had a couple of DK9008G2 Pro's with Whites, we removed a couple of key caps and discovered they were in fact Clear. Deskthority got it right though, whites have a more solid shade of white and have an extra 'finger/stem' sticking out on the right of the switch. I took a pic of the Clears and Whites on my 78Version, the 3 from the left are Clear, the four from the right are Whites, you can just make out that extra 'appendage' on the last White on the extreme right....

Does the Ducky Mini have reactive lightning modes as the Shine 3's ?
Sadly no

So you can only switch the leds on/off & change the brightness level ?  :blank:

Yea, would love to have fancy led-effects, but really wanted a small keyboard.

Interesting. So technically, a Poker II modded with LEDS is about, if not almost the same as the Ducky Mini.
Yep, to me the layout is actually pretty nice to use.  ;D

Ducky DK9087 G2PRO LE MX Brown & White. Brought it back from Taipei while I was at Computex 2013!

The "\" key is actually MX Brown, not Clear. :(

Waiting for my MX Black YOTS to arrive! Should be anytime now!
Welcome to the club Zeal!

Do the caps lock and scroll lock keys have small holes in them to let the LED shine through?

Yeah. WASD, Caps and Scroll lock each have a blue LED. The caps and scroll lock have the little clear circle but you can feel some roughness around the outer circle. =/
Alright. Thanks for that! Dang now I wish I joined that mass drop buy for those front-print pbt caps :(

Congratulations on the Ducky.

Shame about the space bar :(

For some reason that seems oddly appropriate.

Nice :)

That's pretty! :)

So, it's a white LED version with plastic thingies under the keycaps?

Yup! It's pretty ingenious, I can't believe I only found out about them a month ago.
Now I can type on rainbows all day, e'ry day  :thumb:

Cool!  Those plastic things work really well--could have fooled anyone looking at the keyboard that those are multi-color LEDs.

Almost!

What gives 'em away is that these block out quite a bit of light so you have to set your keyboard to max brightness to get a good amount of color.
I'd say max brightness with the color changers is equivalent to the lowest or second lowest brightness without them.

Full bright is too bright anyway.  I usually have mine on the second setting from the bottom.
