Asking for help finding a KB
« on: Tue, 19 January 2016, 15:38:15 »
Hello.
I'd like some help finding a keyboard, and would appreciate any suggestions.
I could probably sit and comb through a bunch, reading specs of each I find. But I'll probably miss a few, and would like opinions from you guys!

What I need:
-60% or very slightly bigger, depending on other factors.
-Able to customize the key caps*
-Programmable**
-Cherry MX brown

Bonus if it also has:
-Backlit, preferably white
-The thicker keycap material
-ISO layout. But I could live with the US

Don't really have a budget.

*I don't know a great deal about the key caps, shape, size ect. But I have seen some really nice designs with nice keycaps, so I'd like to be able to do the same.
**I think programmable means I can set up some keys to launch apps and multimedia ect. If that's the case, I'd like that.

Your suggestions would be appreciated! Thank you.

I have a few recommendations.

First, the WhiteFox. Unfortunately the drop already ended but it may turn up again sometime soon. It has many different layouts, ISO included.

I would also recommend you look into a Vortex Poker 3 or a Ducky Mini. Both are available in ISO layout.

I'd recommend the Pok3r; but you'll have to chose between backlit and ISO -

http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B014T5O96M - White, ANSI, white backlit.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00TIM62OY - White, ISO, none backlit.

You're able to add your own LEDs with a bit of soldering, there's guide all over.

If you want ISO keycaps, look at ukkeycaps.co.uk, they have a nice range and all packs are compatible. Some GBs will have ISO options too, but not all of them.
