We brought home this adorable little guy yesterday. His name is Bandit, he's a long haired Dachshund and he's 3. His original owners were unable to take him along during a move due to the place they have to live not being pet friendly. Luckily, they'll be living only about an hour away from where we are, so they'll be able to visit him any time they want. He's really adjusted to the switch very well so far and surprisingly, ate and slept in our bed last night (both of the other Dachshunds I've had have had horrible separation anxiety, so I was expecting him not to eat until he was comfortable with us, and definitely not sleep anywhere near us)

This is a dog.

True story. My roomie has a rat terrier that we call "cat terrier" mostly to upset her. He's nothing like a cat, but it really gets her goat. Hamster.

You're not the first to point out the resemblance. I gave him a sock one time. He didn't get the meaning.

Looks a little gray around the jowels.  Also looks like he's had a wonderful life.

Hopefully he's not in any discomfort, and can live out his remaining time surrounded by friends and family.

Aww, sorry to hear that. I had a hedgehog for almost 5 years when I was a kid, and they are great pets when you handle them regularly. My Sonic used to love to cuddle under my chin when I was laying down. :(

She was the the cutest, still is just now much bigger, don't even remind me of everything she has destroyed, my poor poor vans :(. I do miss how she used to walk up to our laps and curl up into a ball on us though. But I don't miss the 4am wake up barks.

Charlie (9 months old) and Casper (9 weeks old)

They are brothers (from different litters obviously). Despite being super cute (and spoiled) they are wild beasts.  They must think they are large hunting dogs as they play so rough with each other and I.  Despite that they love other animals and people.

Couple more of Charlie cuz I can't resist.
