Man those two beautiful Model F's just seal the deal.

10/10 would type at this desk happily for decades.

Thanks! I procrastinated forever about refinishing the tabletop.

My cramped little space:

And a little closer for the goodies:

Previously, I was running the laptop on a stand with a pretty big rocket speaker to the right of it until the wife (boss) complained of no space for herself. Tough COVID times. But, I have to say it does feel a bit better with less things caving me in.

That is about the proper screen size / keyboard size ration.  I'm rocking something kinda similar (38" ultra wide + HHKB Pro JP keyboard)!
HHKB Pro JP (daily driver) -- HHKB Pro 2 -- Industrial IBM Model M 1395240-- NIB Cherry MX 5000 - IBM Model M 1391412 (Swiss QWERTZ) -- IBM Model M 1391403 (German QWERTZ) * 2 -- IBM Model M Ambra -- Black IBM Model M M13 -- IBM Model M 1391401 -- IBM Model M 139? ? ? *2 -- Dell AT102W -- Ergo (split) SmartBoard (white ALPS apparently)

I eventually had to sell it because of cost of maintenance, and I wanted something newer for a daily driver. It was great during college years since it was cheap and easy to fix. I replaced all the main mechanical parts, had the engine rebuilt, new transmission/clutch, new suspension, etc.. It was great to drive while I had it, just didn't have the space or resources to keep it.

For the last few years I’ve been doing all my soldering and building on this dinky little table with all of my tools stashed in an unorganized mess. This is what it looked like on a good day.

Needless to say, a proper workbench is has been a long time coming. Here’s the final result.

Anyway, I’m pretty pumped to get some no nonsense, real manly man work done now.

My perfectly nerdy (mid-30s-going-on-12) home working situation compared to my office desk from months back when I’d just removed my keyboard.

Quite the contrast.

Mine is probably from about 1987 :) At this point it is only used as a switch, I have it plugged into a newer surge supressor. But it is nice to have one master switch to really turn off your monitors and other accessories at the end of the day.
