Cradle of life lost in a see of sand, Oasis are key to surviving in the desert and are at the source of Myth and legends. Whether you're hunting for Zerzura or just willing to make a stop in your quest for the endgame board, this keyset is for you!

One last word on the kits: I know I have A LOT of kits but hear me out: there is no MOQ per kit. The only MOQ is 24000 U (each kit being worth a different number of "U").
As long as this MOQ is met, all kits WILL be produced. Biip had MOQs on certains Milkshake kits because molds had to be created, but again, this is not the case here :)

Unfortunately not, I thought of white as it wasn't it the theme I was going for :)
BTW, have you considered going hangul legends instead of hiragana? Given how clean the set is, I think it would work even better.Not yet hehe, I will have a look tho I love how clean the set looks with only Latin legends

hi, guy, I am really fond of this colorway. It is rather difficult to choose yellow or yellow-like colors as alpha base color because it is not to easy to find a compatible colorway in a balanced way. GMK plum and GMK penumbra are examples. Although I really like the real keycaps of plum and penumbra, they turn out not as I expect attractively.
This is a must-buy set.

Hopefully the one of the 3D renders as I'm not a fan of the beige-ish color of the gmk renders (,the last one). I live in Belgium, right next to Germany, so I will definitely travel there if gmk agrees, to make sure colors are on point 👌👌

Wrist rest has to be natural leather though, make it gain that patina over time ;)

I'm just glad the brown mods have been added as an extra :)
To me this is GMK Oasis. Not GMK Coffee, or Mocha, or Hot Chocolate, or Mocho Cocoa, or whatever. Someone can create those if they want. And I might even buy them. But I think the original idea for this is more unique. I dig that tropical blue and sand, yet understated vibe. It's soothing, and it's bright in a way that isn't obnoxious. It makes me happy. And so I want to support the creator's inspiration for this set, and to be grateful that in addition to that I can also get the brown mods as a nice add-on. Best of both worlds.
I wanted to end this section with this, I know you guys like the coffee modifiers kit and this is exactly why I am making one, I loved the brown I used and I have to admit the coffee kit looks dope, I do plan on using it on a wooden case from time to time, but I had an idea when developing the set, one that might not be as appealing as the GMK Laser backstory, but one I like nonetheless. I hope you guys understand and you will still support the set :)

A lot of people requested one when I first posted the IC on reddit, but I wasn't sure. The idea started to grow on me (reminded me when I played SC2) and I'm waiting for a reply on how feasible those are but it shouldn't be any problem.

I'm still waiting on the quotes from gmk for the kits that weren't in the original IC (spacebar, ergo/plank, etc), I was supposed to have them by the begining of the week but I have yet to get them.
As for the coffee kit, trust me, I would like to offer you guys a coffee bundle with alphas and mods, but if I have to run both in the same sale, and because those are custom colors, I would need to sell 250 core kits for each which might prove to be difficult considering the large amount of (GMK) sets being released recently.
I will try to get the prices soon and get them as low as possible :)

Will the Kobe kit include brown keys to match the Coffee kit?
Unfortunately, I don't think it will. I am thinking of removing the blue keys from the kit as well so it is purely an alpha kit.
I finally got the final GMK prices for almost all the kits (I am starting to think they don't want to produce an international kit at all since no matter how many times I ask for an update, they dodge the question; and the hangul kit is ... well... as dead as the international kit). I am now waiting on the sellers prices and we should be good to go. Most of the kits are in their final form now (I have to admit I didn't work a lot on the kobe kit because it didn't seem that popular in the first place).
I hope to have an update for you guys after the long weekend.

Hangul kit is actually struggling quite a bit on GMK Burgundy. And, technically since they're paying for the molds, you should be asking cocobrais. I think that's how it works, at least.

Is cocobrais paying for the mold? I didn't know that, always thought it was GMK, specially since when I brought it up, I got told that it had to be asked to the team in charge of that. I still have at least two weeks to go before any GB happens so I will figure everything out and will PM cocobrais as well :-)

I was expecting the coffee kit to win by a larger margin (4 votes at the time of writing). If this trend keeps going I will probably keep the kits as they are, I really enjoy that color combo as well.

Thank you guys for your support! As it stands right now 49% of the votes on the StrawPoll are for Oasis against 51% for Coffee and it's a 53/47 in favor of Oasis on IG. I'll leave it up three more hours (more or less) and take a decision by then, but I'm pretty sure I'll go ahead and launch GMK Oasis (with a coffee kit) on June 1st.

When I "closed" the vote yesterday (24h in) it was 50%/50% I thus decided to go with Oasis (IG was showing me a 53/47 in favor of Oasis).
As for the RAMA key, I tried to have it in blue but unfortunately that was not possible :(

Kits modifications + What’s to come
Kits are pretty much set in stone. That said, some things are still moving a little:
- Coffee Kit
I will include a return key in the Coffe kit, making it usable without anything else. I will also add a short shift for us ISO user; I don’t know what happened, I just didn’t realize it was missing.
- Hangul Kit
Please hang tight, I have yet to hear back from GMK (at all, it’s like they are taking an entire week of holiday, hopefully I’ll hear back from them on Monday); I will keep you guys update!
- International Kit

GB should go up on June 1st, emphasise on the should as this might be subject to change depending on GMK and how long they are going to take to come back at him regarding the last kits.

Artisans
I just wanted to address this bit since I’ve had a couple of questions recently; Artisans will be sold in two ways:
- Raffles
We will be raffling 10 Blue Paradise RaijiMore(https://i.imgur.com/Z0zBrFj.jpg)as well as 10 Gnomey and 10 Kepy in the Blue Paradise colorway. I am still waiting on Briz’s pictures but they should be ready on time.
Every person joining the Oasis GB will be granted one unique entry into the raffles (meaning, one entry in Artkey's raffle and one in Briz's). Invoices will be sent shortly after we close the GB (just to time for me to collect everyone's name, randomize and select the winners).
- GB
We will be offering matching XO KeycapsMore(https://i.imgur.com/CQEg5uc.jpg)in a GB Form. That means that anyone, be it someone that joined the GB or not, can get one of these. There is a MOQ of 50 unit, hopefully we can reach it as they look dope AF!

All these changes and kits will be made BUT the person in charge of those will only be back in office at the end of next week, meaning we will push the GB back a little more as I prefer to have a complete offering :) I hope you guys will like the end result!
I'm happy to see this coming together very nicely so far. Has there been any update on how the colors will look compared to the renders? I think there was some discussion of this in the beginning, regarding the color of the sand caps.

I remember mentionning it to GMK and to Janglad (who did the renders). Janglad confirmed it would look really close to his renders and GMK reassured me by telling me that they would send me samples to make sure the colors would look good. Other than that, I also mentionned the fact that I live in Belgium, and I won't hesitate to visit GMK (should they allow me to) to make sure colors are matching what I imagined for the set.

I just don't want to be left without any options, the colorway imports me more than the profile as I really love it, so if the GMK GB fails, I will run this as DSA.

I know a couple of people have proposed MaxKeys, but the problem is that they don't offer any ISO compatibility which would make me kinda sad since that's what I use. As for SP, I have no idea about their MOQ, the only problem there would be the ETA ^^
As for the colors for the DSA variant, I am pretty confident that they would look good (I wouldn't consider it otherwise). They made a pretty good job with Starry Night, Mystery and Drifter plus I would have the possibility of getting a set done before the GB to ensure everything looks good.
Again, I would prefer to run this through GMK, but that MOQ is killing me.

Looks like you're not the only one hehe, the poll result is what I expected, and I will definitely run this as a GMK set. I did contact a DSA manufacturer to get more options, but I knew even back then that I wanted to run it as a GMK set.

Not quite because shipping is often quite high and in some cases there can be extra taxes you have to pay. Also sometimes the items get stuck in customs and that can take quite a while.You need to run it through Massdrop...

As someone else mentioned before shipping can be quite high, but not even that, I've had to pay up to 30€ (yes, I mean euros) for a 26$ (yes, I mean dollars) for an artisan I bought there. Not MD's fault as they are a business and they need to declare full value of the items, I understand.
That and the fact that I laugh every time i think that GmK sets are produced in Germany, sent to MD in the States and then shipped back to European customers haha.
That said, if I need to go through them, as they have more reach than other vendors, I will definitely do it (as a matter of fact I already contacted them about the set).

Have you considered doing jtk? Apparently, their new legends are much better and looking at the group buy on switchmod.net their moq is 100.

yes, massdrop is a problem for us, taxes and customs have a strong influence on the choice of purchase. However certainly from more visibility to the set. For me it would be a shame because I could not take everything. But obviously it's a personal problem.

I don't mind Massdrop personally, and it does increase reach, as many are finding out in the current climate, it can be hard to reach MOQ. Not sure what the backlog is like on MD at he current time, however. You're looking at a few months until GB. You could also reach out to Sheraton at OriginativeCo. He's done a few things with designers, and has even bailed out GMK Necro. But who knows what his current capacity is.
I like JTK... but I like GMK more. Never seen DSS... DCS, yes... and Midnight is a good set in DCS. But DSS? Where's the reference to that?

I agree that there's no use for the R2 1u backspace, but I don't get how this would be ruining HHKB layout boards? How would you use a R2 1u key on a HHKB either way? If you wanted to have both delete and backspace on the board you could already use the 1.5u backspace and use the R1 1u delete that's already in the kit in place of the tilde key no?

Regarding the deskmat, I wanted to let you know that I requested a new sample with sand color :)
As for Kobe vs. Hangul, Kobe is winning by a slight margin (55.4% against 44.6% for the Hangul kit). It's still a fairly close fight, so keep voting!

So, for the main fight "Kobe vs. Hangul", the winner is Kobe. It wasn't that clear at first, but bit by bit a gap appeared. I would have loved to run both but that is unfortunately not possible. I hope that those of you that voted for the Hangul kit will still join :)
As for the deskmat, it's no surprise but the sand colored background won; a sample has already been ordered and I will keep you guys update!

Thank you for this. I did indeed not have much to say about that. I would have LOVED to make a 70-80$ kit, but that's way under what GMK is selling those to the vendors, you'd also need to factor in the vendors' expenses, shipping fees to them and VAT and that's unfortunately the price you get :(

It has nothing to do with the removal of the ergo kit and everything to do with the addition of keys.

And this was estimated at around 70-80$. I have nothings against going back to this one but I have to admit I hate people complaining about a rising price on something when I've done nothing but listen to feedback. everyone wanted more keys added, everyone (well, not everyone, but still) hated the blue modifiers, everyone wanted the Coffee modifier set to be "standalone" so they could use this in addition to some more alphas and get the set they wanted; unfortunately I didn't make the price. As a matter of fact, and being totally transparent since the price seems to be an issue; I am earning around 2€ per coffee modifier kit sold; you want me to get a lower price? I don't have anything against that, I'll chop 2 euros off the price, but I doubt that would change anything, would it?!

I really wish I could offer lower prices, really. This is the thing that made me want to run it as a DSA kit as I could have made like a billion different kits with virtually no MOQ in comparison to GMK, but GMK is life haha

I discussed this with the vendor and I need to be realistic, we are not going to hit MOQ. Here are some numbers:
EU has sold a whopping 4 core kits, all in the first 24h of the sale going live, none have been ordered since then;
We sold a total of 31 Core kit in about 10 days, I don't see the keyset selling another 219 core kits in the remaining 3 weeks of the GB; and
We have sold more Rama keycaps than Core, Coffee and Kobe put together.
I guess I haven't done a good enough job promoting the keyset, but when I compare this to the DSA Milkshake GB that just launched and sold 200+ kits in the first day in the states alone, I can compete. I'd rather stop it here than see the vendors lose more money if I wait.
This is not to say that I am dropping the idea and abandoning it; far from that. I am still committed to the colorway and want it to happen, I guess now is just not the time, and I guess GMK is just not the profile. zFrontier reached out to me asking me if I had any interest in running the keyset in their new KAT profile, which I've been really interested in since they announced it. I am thus looking into that and other potential profiles (I already checked with zFrontier for DSA); I asked for the IC thread to be unlocked in order to post some more there and I will post this update there as well.
Last but not least, since we hit MOQ on the Rama X/O keycaps, I asked the vendors to contact the clients and see if they wanted to keep their artisan purchase. As for the other artisans (Briz and Artkey) I will wait for the product to relaunch before raffling them (the raijis are already casted, so you can be sure I will come back with the keyset!

Ah no, I meant it as a "Now is not the time to run a 'non-hype' set (read not Carbon) as GMK" as there are too many of those :) I will not stop this project, although I do have to wait on zFrontier to either get back to me regarding the DSA kits, prices, etc. or get more information on the KAT profile (they offered to run Oasis on that profile but I do not think they are 100% ready to launch it just yet) so it is a little bit out of my hands for the time being. But I will definitely not stop this project :)

We don't need another profile, but is is not a bad thing either, it brings diversity and options, I don't see that as a bad thing.

That said zFrontier is waiting to place the order for Milkshake and the KAT Alphas before placing an order for Oasis samples, but it is happening, so we'll know more once those are in.

As far as the colours go, I think we can expect a good result. I know that it’s not the same manufacturer but look at dsa drifter for example: the colours turned out great in my opinion.

I feel like I've been very absent of this thread for quite a while; I was focusing on GMK Monochrome and I was mostly waiting on zFrontier/Keyreative ("zFrontier" hereafter) for updates.
The thing is that zFrontier wanted to finish the "KAT Alpha" production before launching any other KAT product, and I got confirmation in the second half of december that said production was finishing "real soon" (TM).
I know the first post of this thread still mentions GMK and all renders are for that profile but I've repeatedly asked zFrontier for the 3D files and they told me I would have them by the end of the week (crossing my fingers here, really hope I have them soon). If that is the case, I will try to get some renders for you guys and will post them as soon as possible. 3D files also means that RAMA will be able to work on a key. I already discussed this with him and he said it wouldn't be a problem, as long as he had the files to work with.
zFrontier also mentioned it would be possible to get samples this month to show the colors. I take that with a grain of salt as this of course depends on the KAT Alpha production and on on how well they manage to reproduce the colors. That said, and this is exciting to me, I got "confirmation" that reverse dye-sub should be possible (zFrontier was not confident in this at the beginning). That means that the coffee kit would be possible to produce (it would be more expensive, but still possible). I will of course update you guys as soon as I have more news :)

- My first attempt really lacked a novelty kit. I can't say for sure that zFrontier can produce novelties with the KAT profile but I would like to see if we can get something done for the RAMA keys (something a little custom as what Biip is getting for Bento - would you guys have any idea? I suck at everything photoshop/illustrator/... so I would appreciate any help you guys would provide.

I feel like I've been very absent of this thread for quite a while; I was focusing on GMK Monochrome and I was mostly waiting on zFrontier/Keyreative ("zFrontier" hereafter) for updates.
The thing is that zFrontier wanted to finish the "KAT Alpha" production before launching any other KAT product, and I got confirmation in the second half of december that said production was finishing "real soon" (TM).
I know the first post of this thread still mentions GMK and all renders are for that profile but I've repeatedly asked zFrontier for the 3D files and they told me I would have them by the end of the week (crossing my fingers here, really hope I have them soon). If that is the case, I will try to get some renders for you guys and will post them as soon as possible. 3D files also means that RAMA will be able to work on a key. I already discussed this with him and he said it wouldn't be a problem, as long as he had the files to work with.
zFrontier also mentioned it would be possible to get samples this month to show the colors. I take that with a grain of salt as this of course depends on the KAT Alpha production and on on how well they manage to reproduce the colors. That said, and this is exciting to me, I got "confirmation" that reverse dye-sub should be possible (zFrontier was not confident in this at the beginning). That means that the coffee kit would be possible to produce (it would be more expensive, but still possible). I will of course update you guys as soon as I have more news :)

I would need to check with zFrontier, but I have to admit, after seeing how this GB went and the general trend of trying to bring down the number of kits, that I am a little... skeptical as to whether this kit would hit MOQ or not. That is something that I would need to get the MOQ for and see the interest of the community.

I pretty much prefer the coffee set over the base one. With KAT instead of GMK I am even more interested in this (not that I do not like GMK but a change in profiles is a welcome change).

That said, seing GMK Café really makes me feel bad - not that I would be competing with him or anything, just the lack of understanding from the designer about the modifiers' color.
I know most of you wanted to see GMK Coffee (although that did not show in the poll I posted which ended-up being 50/50), but everything I see about this makes me wonder if I should not just drop the blue and make it a real coffee set. Would you guys want to see a Coffee set in KAT over the Oasis one?
I would like your honest point of view on this because this set would be for me but for all the community to enjoy :)

Edit: Going KAT Coffee would be doable according to my last mail exchange with Alex but I'm just a little scarred for the modifiers. I've asked zFrontier to get a key or two produced to see what it would look like. I would really feel better having samples to show you guys rather than just renders.

I'd rather have the blue in there. I'm ok if it's not KAT, the original GMK Oasis was totally fine by me, but for me the blue plays a big part, it really gives that beach feeling that I really like, I'm really not interested in the Coffee look.

Sorry no SA over here (I hate SA :P). The top surface is pretty shallow, unlike MT3 for example. The edges are not that sharp at all and there's no deep dish in the set, only homing bar.

I like SA, but lately its height is kinda bugging me for some reason.
I like XDA too. Cherry is ok.
I do NOT like DSA and MT3 - sharp high edges and all caps being like deep dish is driving me nutters...
So KAT sounds interesting, simply lower SA I would say.
And that smoooothness sounds great, I actually love when Cherry gets so smooth and shiny with time :p
I would be getting core and coffee kit - these two together will look sweeeeeet :D

I'm proud to announce that KF has accepted to collab and will produce somes keys that will match Oasis - Mockups will arrive in October! On the artisan note, Here is the keypora that will be produced for this set, I hope you like it :

Artisan list is also growing, along with Keyforge confirming he will be part of the project, I also got confirmation that SUK will be producing a keybuto and snapjaw, BAD will also join the team :) Coz and Hello? have mentioned that would be interested in participating but it depends on their schedule.
All in all, this looks like an all-star artisan team and I'm super excited!
I really hope to be able to show you guys renders soon - I blame WOW Classic for the delay ^^'
Last but not least, for the people interested in the INTL and CMD kits, I've added a "potential change" line, I'd like to hear your feedback :)

Samples had to be redone because colors wasn't all that good, they have now been sent (yesterday) to zFrontier, I should be getting pictures during/after the chinese holidays and I'll be able to get the samples in hand and send them to artisan makers so they can colormatch a little better :)

- (assuming you are talking of the modifiers kit and not something else) I'm not 100% sure what you are referring to: the mod color ` key is there for people that use something else than a 60% but want to keep a symmetric look. Could you let me know on what board the mod color ' key in the asdf row would be used? I've check Atlantis, Lucky Jade, Eternal and Milkshake and we are all using the same keys.

Colours look good - the brown reverse dye sub looks a little noisy on top, is that due to the lighting and cap texture?
The alphas look way more peach colored than that tan color from the renders. Will there be another run of samples, or was that intended (might just be the lighting)?
I'll take some more pictures when I get home from work (I took those pics yesterday night at around 9.00 PM, I'll take them with natural light today and try to use a DSLR to do so. Colors look really nice IRL and I'm fairly satisfied with them so I do not plan a second run of samples (fairly surprised at how they managed to get the colors right the first time) and I've received pretty great feedback from vendors are community members who I shared the picture with, but I won't refuse to do another sample run if we end-up deciding it's necessary :) I've always listened to the community and will keep doing so.

With the second point I was still talking about the ortho kit! I'd say even the preonic doesn't use the grave accent in the qwerty row, it would be in the number row. Planck kits often include an asdf row apostrophe key, for similar reasons as you explained: To keep the symmetry of mod colors and alpha colors. Exactly what I needed, thanks for the image and the example of board. I'll look into adding that in those kits.

As I stated above, I will not be using the font used on the samples - keyreative and zFrontier know that as well. I'll be using the same font than the renders use. I will of course request to see samples for the novelties and at least one or two of the Arabic characters - when I said I was not going to order another run of samples, I meant colorwise. My first goal with these was to ensure colors looked good and most importantly that keyreative could produce liha kits I planned on running. I am 100% confident keyreative can produce the Arabic kit (considering the set they've already produced such as the Klingon set) and I haven't heard back from them about the novelties being too complicated to produce - should that be the case I am already ready with simpler versions of the same novelties.

Also, I have three Colevrak kit suggestions:
1) All the alpha kits support non-homing, correct? If yes, please add KAT R2 non-homing U to support non-homing Dvorak. For all other layouts, non-homing is already supported.
2) Adding KAT R2 ]} (right bracket/right brace) would support Wide mod, which works on all layouts* including QWERTY (*except Dvorak).
3) Adding KAT R1 apostrophe/quote would give minimal support to Programmer's Dvorak.
Anyway, thanks for offering a Colevrak kit at all!

I just noticed in one of the renders there is a 1.5u [sun] and [palm tree] novelty, but the kits only include the 1.5u palm tree, is there no 1.5u sun? Also, the novelty kits only include 1x 1.5u novelty of each variant?
You are totally right. This was one of the first renders I got done for the set and that mistake was made because of me - the kits are indeed as depicted in the kits images, so there is only two 1.5u novelties - sorry for the mistake :(

These renders, out of all the ones I had made, represent the best what the samples look like. They are not an exact match to the pictures because lightning does a lot - the picture you linked has been taken with a DSLR on my balcony around 4.00-5.00 PM with some natural light (not sun, just light) so they look cooler/brighter. The modifiers on the white Conone look a little more bright because of the lightning used and because of the white case.

Again, I'll take a couple more pictures next to items that I now people have at their home so they can try and compare (can of coke, my silver iPhone, etc.) so you can get a better idea of how it looks.

I got an answer from zFrontier and it looks like the leadtime is between 3 and 5 months - so with the GB finishing up in March, it should ship around june/july - right for the summer :D
Everything looks fantastic, but out of curiousity, why is there a price difference between the two spacebar kits? Both of them have the same amount of keys. Same goes for Oasis Blank Modifiers and Liha Blank Modifiers also if I'm not mistaken.
So sorry for the delayed answer, opened a tab to reply and then forgot - the price difference is caused by the different quotes we got (which I suspect is caused by the different colors). Most kits had under a dollar difference so we could work on the prices to get them identical regardless of the colorway, this was not possible with the spacebar and the blank modifiers kit unfortunately. I hope this helps with your question :)

1) I gave priority to form over functionality on this one - I went with mono arabic legend as a) it was a first for zFrontier/keyreative and I didn't want to take any risk (they could have pulled it off w/o any issue I reckon and that's what samples are for) but also, and most importanlty, b) because I prefer the way it looks now (I made a mock up of both and kept finding the dual legends too clutered) - I didn't think this would be a problem since most people (I think) get this type of kit for visual purposes rather than functionality, but this is definitely something I will consider next time :)
2) I have to admit that I am not fluent in arabic, nor do I pretend to be. I wanted a work for "bark" in arabic and found Liha which at the time I thought sounded nice and was pretty short so it was easy to use - considering this is just for the kit names and is not present on any novelties (as opposed to some sets that have word novelties), I will probably keep it (specially since vendors and manufacturer use the term) but this is also something I'll keep in mind for the next set I do - I'll definitely consult someone fluent in arabic :)

I didn't expect it, but he suprised us with a Matapora in addition to the keypora (I saw the first shots he made of the keypora - they looked gorgeous, he is now tweaking the blue - you'll see the final result soon!)

Got this pic when I woke up this morning and was super excited! The blue is a little pale and that will be reworked in the final shots, but I love the accents and know the final results will be stellar!

Yes! Everything goes live at the same time - the only question is for zFrontier and the deskmat/Nano. since they are on holidays right now and they set the page to automatically launch tomorrow :-)

I'm about to pull the trigger at Kono over here, but I wanted to make sure of something. The alphas are aligned in the center, and the colevrak kit is aligned in the top left corner, at least in the pictures. Certainly they are both aligned the same, right?
You are 100% right - all legends are centered just like it was with KAT Alpha :) sorry for that, it was on my To-Do list and somehow got crossed off.
