« Last post by Rhienfo on Thu, 18 April 2024, 19:34:52 »it's mostly on PC. it's pretty sad. consoles are actually super well optimized. i realized this when playing warzone, which is fairly hard to run. it's kind of crazy how good the $500 consoles are compared to PCs when you consider the hardware difference, and it feels pretty sad to see all that raw compute power translate into mediocre performance
Yeah, it's a shame that pc doesn't have the install base, that's the only reason why companies optimise consoles in the first place.
Kinda wish that the steam deck/pc is more accessible so it becomes more popular.

Main current keyboards are 2X Mongeek M1s, one with Oil Kings + Ghost Judge Cherry, and the other with Duhuk Lumia Matcha V4s + Mintcap MSA keycaps. Laptop keyboard is a GMK67 w/ Gateron G Pro yellows + Fogruaden PBT CSA.
Relegated to the shelf (and slated for dispersal to family) are a pair of RK84s (one wired, one wireless) w/ YMDK shinethroughs and a GMK87 w/ YMDK shinethroughs.
Top it all off, inbound is a Yunzii AL66 to replace the GMK67. It'll be getting either Duhuk or Oil King switches as well as a set of KBDiy GMK MarrsGreen Keycap Cherry keycaps that are currently on a slow boat.

For anyone else with the same question and constraints:
Inspired by the grease mod, I smeared each spring in Vaseline and now the ringing/buzzing noise is gone. A reapplication of Vaseline in the future should remediate new buzzing that emerges with time. I also tried using new, corrosion-free springs that I cut up from longer ones, but they still created noise.
For anyone else with the same question and constraints:

Export side, TCL is already beating up the Name Brands with their $2000 100 incher lcds. The corean oled factories are not at peak utilization. They're only selling half the number of units they need to sell, and they're deathly afraid to give up margin.
China's internal market has always been ~6-10x the size of their american export market, so you can project that they have more than enough to capitalize without worrying about exports at all.
It's inevitable that TCL takes over.
JOLED printers are not inherently that different than all the other printers they're using for QD_OLED. It's coming for certain, and we will see very aggressive pricing. Probably up to 30-40% less than competitors.
I don't think JOLED will be as good as QD_OLED, but TBH, it doesn't have to be, Gamut is great, but beyond P3, it's not critical. That said Tp4 still highly recommends QD_oled.
LG is the company in alot of trouble due to their native competitor Samsung.
QDoled is putting the hurt on WOLED, there's already major friction in consumer sentiment around the 2 technolgies, with QD leading. Objectively speaking QDO is better in almost all metrics except daytime reflection.
