Never heard of any jittering issues with the abyssus.

Im using it on a kai.g3 hard pad from artisan @400dpi and 1000hz (switches under the mouse).

Even when I play in 1920x1080 with this low dpi  it's still very smooth. I suggest you buy it nao!

Hmm, I'll give it a go.

Heaps of people over at esreality say that it has really bad jiterring issues.

Hmmm that's weird, I searched ESR and it's true a lot of ppl say they had problems with it but I never experienced any jittering on my end.

Also, it's the mouse cypher/cooller uses so that's a pretty good arguement imo :P

razer abyssus. best mouse for claw grip along with wmo and ms1.1a when i feel like mixing it up.

400 dpi is all you need for fps.

As above. The Abyssus is a great mouse, imo. I tried out the DeathAdder but didn't like the feel of it at all.

I'm running 1000hz and 1800dpi though.

I believe jittering to be a problem, I couldn't even draw in paint with my DeathAdder 3G (first ones)

Could you draw some lines and circles for me in paint nrtdx?
It could be like the Xai mice where a small amount are usable and the rest are **** with a horrid amount of positive acceleration.

Oh my god. Just got the abyssus. Was using the G5 from 2006 - 2008, then DeathAdder for 1 1/2 years. IME 3.0 for over a year. So I've only had palm grip mice.

This feels so weird, but in a freaking awesome way, jumped into a game with 8 nightmare bots, hitting better LG and hitting so many rails, I can also ****ing rocket jump easy as piss now. No more looking like a ***got because I'm unable to rocket jump.

Best thing is, little to no jittering when so many people are reporting it.

Only problem is the highish LOD which is fixable with tape apparently.

EDIT: The LOD is actually horrible, I find it hard to play so I have to play without picking up my mouse til I find some blurry scotch tape or something. :(

Mouse acceleration in Windows is more commonly turned off and adjusted in-game. Though some people like The Solutor are just used to it from back in the day with ball mice.

I don't use acceleration in-game or out.

I used a xm518 for a few years, but I wore it out and picked up a  Razer Lachesis.  I developed a repedative stress injury that is causing pain in wrist and shoulder from using that mouse so I've since switched back to a MX518.  My hand wrist and shoulder don't hurt as bad when using the mx518 but I'm still in pain when using it.  I'm about to buy a Mionix Naos 5000 to see how that feels.

That's my exact problem with my Abyssus too. If I'm playing any FPS I plug my old Mamba back in instead and only use the Abyssus for SC2 and desktop stuff, because I run those on 3500dpi and don't need to lift it off at all. I run my Mamba at 800 dpi or something and usually as low as possible ingame for FPS games, because I got used to that when I used to do a ton of scrimmaging against other teams in COD. The Abyssus is smaller, lighter and feels a tad more precise to me at high dpi, whereas the Mamba just has a nice glide and LOD when you want it do large sweeping movements at low dpi.

I got some Sellotape 'invisible tape' for photocopying at Woolworths for $3.88 and covered 2mm of the sensor on the bottom. Tried covering the whole sensor but it impacted the max control.

Abyssus so much better than the Mamba for FPS, once you do the LOD fix of course :)

Razer Nagas, both kinds. I actually like them, and the Epic fixed my only real issues with the first one, being that I could not get a wider grip on it, the terrible mouse key 4 & 5 positioning, and that it did not have adjustable lighting.

I guess now if I have to have an issue, its that they don't have the Logitech MX style "inertia" scroll wheel.  That would actually make it just perfect, for me.

And on one of these, because it's not a real anime, and it's super comfy on my wrists.  I don't leave it out when people come over, though.

Good old IE 3.0 X06 (10y), 1800dpi DeathAdder* (3y), ...and sometimes the throttle's thumbstick of a TM Über Cougar HOTAS! It's funny to see that these kind of mice seem popular with mechanical keyboard users.
Btw, anyone know of where to buy spare covers for DA's or even IE 3.0? There seem to be a lot of limited edition models with outrageous prices for these, like the white covered DA, but the problem is that the rubberised paint won't last long.

* with so many firmware updates on it, it's the only mouse I know of that bloody inverts the X axis on some DOS apps!

I was recommended the Spawn on my hunt for a small mouse.  For SC2 purposes I looked at the Kinzu, MiCO, and Abyssus as well.  I went with the Abyssus and so far so good.  The lift off distance is kind of high, but I'm not lifting that much.  The size and weight are important to me and the Abyssus is extremely light!

I did a comparison video to the Razer Orochi as well.

It's a really nice mouse.  Small, lightweight and comfortable.  Smaller than your G9x (I used to have one) and my R.A.T. 7.  Recently MadCatz told me that I'd won their new R.A.T. 7 Albino so I'm gonna be using/testing that from now so I could post a short review later.

Yup, but it's definitely an improvement over the original PTE sensor that plagued the original R.A.T. (which I also have).  This one I got it for free from Jeff over at MadCatz (from their drawings).  It's still a hefty mouse (for those that prefer heavier mice) but the sensor now is very smooth and the LOD has also been improved.  I only have this for a couple of days so I'll post more feedback later on if anyone's interested.
