With regard to the Alpaca switches that were just brought up on this thread, I received a sample quantity and they amazing.
I don't know how they compare to Tangerines, but Alpacas are by far the best stock switch I have ever tried. I'm not a linear fan, but I've tested MX Red, Gateron Red, and Gateron Yellow in my keyboards. They have their pluses and minuses, but none of them really impacted me.
The Alpacas, though. They aren't impressive as individual switches, and just feel like a middleweight linear. But in a keyboard with GMK caps, they are incredibly smooth, and the weight provides some response for typing.
I'm going to test them in the days ahead, and see how they work out for various tasks. I can't imagine typing on linears, but these are the first switches that made me seriously consider it.
