Just sent my payment. Had to sell a bunch of old computer gear to fund it.

Greatly apologize for the hold up to everyone.

There's a big problem right now that I will try to resolve withing the next few days :( . I'll give a more detailed update when I get more info.

any info yet? bav's last update made it sound like the pcbs are moving to completion over there so eyes are now on these plates and prof's parts.

So many +1's. I didn't totally just brush this GB off to the side, just forgot to update. Order had already been submitted, and the few that still have not paid got cancelled. I can only nag so much...

With that said, these still have about a week left until they're ready, assuming there are no other problems.

I bent over backwards to get the 3 low quantity designs to go through at a reasonable cost. But they're all going through.

That's why a backup option was implemented! Tsk tsk. Although for me, the only thing I'd want in backup would be the ANSI150, and I already have one of those, so I was only in for one thing. I'm glad WFD managed to get it through.

Guys I have bad news. It's actually terrible news considering this point in time:

I got a call from the company to come check out the small batch they did to make sure they're ok before they finished up the rest. The quality of the plates they already did was total  garbage and I didn't accept them. Talked to them for a while on the spot, and we basically concluded that they will be taking majority of the loss but I let them keep the programing and setup fees, which were out of my own pocket.

If you want to know why they turned out like crap, it's because the laser cutter is 2500w compared to a 4000w high end machine that I had the last plate GB done at. Lower power means it takes longer to cut each plate, which means it uses up more of their gas tanks. When they try to artificially boost the speed just by 20%, then it does not cut all the way through at some areas. Tolerance is just terrible in general, and there's too much warping/distortion.

I'm actually pretty pissed and stressed out about this. I'm kinda sick of dealing and negotiating with different companies, and driving to some of them. I think best solution is to just go back to the original company, get a requote at the current quantities, drop the two lowest designs since programming costs for them are too high, and just submit the order if it's a reasonable quote. I've been trying to avoid going higher than what I already invoiced for, but it looks like price will increase a few dollars per plate to make up for all the cancellations and non-payment. I'm just going to pay for it all upfront and whatever the price difference is per plate, you can pay me back if you feel like it. I just don't want to spend anymore time nagging for payment and making sure you paid a few bucks.

Those cuts look terrible. You should have just given them a spare plat and told them to make it look like this. I looks like the machine was forced to rush through it. Its been a long time since I did any metal work, but I remember if you try to rush with a plasma cutter it usually screws up your cuts like in the pictures you posted

You made the right call WFD. It sucks that you're having to bear the brunt of all this stress, but I'm sure I'm not alone when I say that we're grateful for what you do. So thank you.

As for the additional cost, that's a no brainer and I'll pay whatever is required. It's the least we can do.

I'm sorry this had to happen guys. All those late payments and last minute cancellations a few months ago really didn't help. Earlier today I've already submitted a request to the old company for a requote, they've accepted it, and will get back to me sometimes next week, which I'll resubmit the order. I'll make this work out one way or another.

At this point, I can't cancel, add more plates, or make anymore changes. I've already submitted a requote for exact numbers of plates. If there are any changes now, then it would have to be cancelled and the whole process starts over. There will be some people that change their minds once they receive stuff, so you can sort that out afterwards.
