What's Bothering You? (The thread about what is bothering you.)

Seriously, why do we need religion, Star Trek adequately covers everything religion has to offer + more. It could easily replace the constitution as well.

47 job apps over the last 2 weeks = 47 rejection emails, with not even a single interview
If a relevant BA degree, and 7 years direct experience in similar fields is not good enough for even an interview, what the hell are they looking for?
I am truly at a loss for understanding.

I am speaking as someone who lives in a metro of 300k and hasn't applied for a job in 6.5 years. How big of a market do you live in and if I may ask, what field are you trying to get into? Where I live in the midwest the job market is rather robust and job hopping is rather easy from what I can tell. I work in the IT sector and have friends also in that field. Is it possible your market is too saturated with other applicants? I am not saying "if you want a decent job you HAVE to move" because it's not how it works. Just curious what it looks like in your part of the world.

Seattle area is a huge tech market, my background is in Game Design, Writing, and Production Management. First 6 years out of college I had no issues finding work, and had multi-year contracts with big names in tech. But the past 4 years I cannot even land interviews, and have been working retail positions just to barely get by.
I've revamped my resume and cover letters multiple times, applied to jobs I am overqualified for, reached out to hiring managers. I'm out of ideas, out of resources, and out of time. Over the past 7 months I've probably applied to over 200 jobs. Not one interview that entire time. I just do not know what to do any more.
