However, I have a small question. I would go for the Black version, however I fear, that an all black-out board would look kinda empty.
Do you think it would be possible to buy an additional bottom aluminum piece? For example, I would buy a black Sar and a silver bottom.
If not then it would be fine too, am just curious.

As this has been proposed as an unlimited group buy, I want to make things as easy as possible on the fulfillment end and reduce the number of variants to a minimum. I have no plans to offer any extra parts other than extra plates and extra PCBs.

Oh my lord I'm fcking drooling, there is no way in all hell that I don't get this, unless the prices comes out to like 700+, in which case I'll probably get still get it but with tears streaming down my face. Awaiting price announcements now lol

The only thing that hurts is lack of winkey, but I'll probably reprogram something else - maybe f13, since I don't know what it is

I am willing to make sacrifices for this beauty

The way I see it, Taking a page from hhkb it can be setup like this :

Caps lock becomes ctrl
Left Ctrl would be win key
And right ctrl would be menú key (for using excel without mouse )

That setup would make this keyboard perform perfectly.

The chonk and angle has me drooling! I've been trying to find a compact 1800 keyboard for work and this has everything I'm looking for. Quick q, perhaps because I'm still a novice to this hobby, I'm not sure if this'll come with ESD protection?

I'm from Germany, so I was used to the ISO enter too. To be honest I got into the normal ANSI enter very quickly, and I don't miss the ISO enter at all. Furthermore, there are so many better keycap options if you go with ANSI because the ISO enter just doesn't look so nice in my humble opinion.
So if You are really into 1800s like I am, this board will be fire!

Had been thinking of pairing the momentum red Sar with GMK Watermelon. But I just realised that I'd like an R1 = for the numpad, which Watermelon doesn't have.

I know the Striker R2 macro expansion kit has one. (Stepped control, too, which would be nice.)

Do you guys know any other kits currently running, or soon to run, with one?

Just buy two and mix and match? Truthfully, I bet you can find users who would be interested in taking up the other side of that as well, (say someone who wants a blue top and a black bottom.)

Obviously that is an option. But (i) the duplication is objectionable and (ii) keycaps that misrepresent their keys' functions are objectionable. (I find it surprising that people who spend so much on boards and keycaps can fail to care about this kind of thing!) So a novelty would be preferable to the R1 -. Or I could always have the key do something else for which there is an appropriate legend. But I'd prefer an R1 =, and for the key to do that.

And thanks for the link. I'd already checked on there, but it's a lot to look through and I don't trust myself not to miss things, so thought I'd consult the hive mind.

Sar status update:

Good news! Salvun has finally received a Datron Neo which will be used to make the 4.75mm plates and weights and I've already received samples of them.

Given that the typing feel and sound signature depending on the plate is substantially different, currently, we are prepping a set of review units with both a brass and polycarbonate plate.

Something worth mentioning about these pieces is that the polycarbonate we are using is UV stable and as a result of such feature it has a fantastic faint dark tint. Salvun has sent me samples of both a bead-blasted and clear unit, and it is likely that we'll go with the latter. I guess I'll have to update some renders.

From his website, it looks like the blue and silver two tone is intended to be released.
Just blue (or any other combination that is not MOMENTUM RED – PWNER SOUL BLACK – LIGHTNING SILVER – SAMURAI BLUE) is not offered because "Adding colors means adding even more complexity for the pre-order.", according to him on Discord.
