My new HHKB Type-S came in today. The case was warped and it rocked on my desk

At least there are free returns and the replacement will be here in two days.

I will be trying it out first though.  :thumb:

I don't trust myself with a  Phantom yet so I'm starting my journey into the uncharted waters of PCB mounted boards with a G80-3000 with Blacks and another with Blues.
So I don't need to learn how to desolder my whole Filco once the Silent Reds arrive.

I even had a chance to take it from their place a few times and was like, "Nah, they wouldn't throw it away. I have a bunch of old stuff in it."
The emptied the stuff and tossed the box.  :'(

I washed everything so all non-mech parts are left to dry right now but I can't wait to type and hear the switches instead of the plate resonating.   ^-^

As promised, I will give a quick assessment of the RF 104U Silenced. It is a really nice Topre keyboard! It is top notch quality and super quiet. All the keys glide like butter and it is a joy to type on.

There is only one minor issues I think in my first impressions. Unless I missed something, there is no way to switch Caps Lock and Control and there are no additional keycaps to do it.

And a note about the variable weighting of the keys. I like them more than I thought I would. The outer areas are super light but you normally don't touch those keys except with your pinkie finger and the other light keys, you typically don't have your fingers resting on them anyway. I still find myself wanting heavier keys though after typing a bit.

I recently finished purchasing the rest of the things I need to build a 60% keyboard, Zeal60 w/65g Zealiostotle:
  • DSA Miami Dolch
  • Zeal60
  • Aristotle Switches
  • 65g Zealio Switches
  • Zeal's Transparent Stabilizers
  • Holtites
  • Aluminum plate
  • iQunix lambo 60

I'm super excited! Although some of it won't be arriving for a long long time (DSA Miami Dolch is planned to ship in October, aluminum plate from aliexpress, etc).
Il probably just set everything up and flash my preferred layout while I wait for the rest of the things to arrive.

Super, thanks for sharing your impressions. I currently switch between an 87U 55g and the variable 104U at work. I too like the variable more than I thought I would. And the fact that they are so quiet is great in my quiet office. So I usually start my work day with the 87U and at some point - maybe when the office gets very quiet after lunch - I change over to the 104U. Each time I switch back it's a fun change.

A Sturmey Archer XL-RD5 5 Speed hub. The bigger 90mm drum brake version.

I already had the smaller 70mm non-XL version, ready to be laced up, but this one was even cheaper. And the bigger drum means much better stopping power. Some compare it to a disc brake.

Guess I will have to lace up the smaller version for my girlfriend's bike. :D

Novatouch and Zealios switch testers. Love Topre but I feel obligated to experiment with other switches. Not really feeling Cherry nor Gateron switches anymore, so I guess I just want to look for another switch that I might like that is not a Topre. Zealios' lightest variant being 62g kind of worries me though, since anything above 50g is kind of heavy for me...
