This might be too late to ask but the r4 1u keys that are blank, can they have a yellow windows icon or an option for one?

Im asking becuase if you put a 7u spacebar with the shift keys, and 1.5 ctrl/alt mods it will look off without yellow to balance it out.

this is a good point. I think the reason it is this way, is because last time GMK said they couldn't do doubleshot windows logos on 1u keys, and that it would have to be pad printed, so I went with blank. However, those were R5. They might be able to do it for R4. I'll check, and if they can, then I fully support this change.
I'll also love you so much if they can do r4 1units in yellow windows. ;)

SNES was/is the best system ever.

Now I need to mod a pc into an snes shell and hook the keyboard up through a modded controller port adapter.

I know that you don't want to blow the set up to an extraordinary size but if child deals are possible do you think the non standard layouts could at least be run separately to see if they can hit MOQ?

By the way any idea on what the MOQ/Pricing is?

I like how TA was just one set, no child deals, no split MOQ issues. Simple, buy or don't. I do like the dark mod set you have though too though. So yeah, add that to the pile of opinions.

I liked it a lot too.

I don't particularly like the dark mod set but there were a lot of people who wanted it, so I decided to be more open minded than in the TA buy and give it a shot.

Not keen to add further child kits -- there is basically zero chance of any of them making MOQ, which will be at least 500.

I've noticed that price usually becomes a topic in the comments section of MD. Having a lot of child deals would probably increase that and turn a lot of people off.

If MOQ is 500 seems fair enough not to include them

Its a shame I see these really nice dark mods in the extra kit but no 1.5 unit ctrl and alt keys in dark which means the extra kit is only targeting people with newer boards. Also, the base kit includes  a special hhkb layout set which targets a very small audience which is people who either have an hhkb with the mx sliders or someone with one of the various hhkb mx style boards which is possibly infinity (no 6x spacebar though), gon hhkb, winkeyless, or viper. While it's really cool I would much rather have a standard grey and light grey alternate esc and f-row set.

This is the thing that would keep me from buying this set. Why can't the dark mods be like the SKIDATA+ color kit.

Question with echo:

intelli: A steep control key? ... a steep control key? ... a steep control key?

You may answer: No, never, forget it.

 :))

Edit: In a serious suggestion: You may add a purple 2u backspace to go with the purple number row to allow the row of keys to be used in standard boards keeping its concept of a colorful top line.

This keycap set is making me seriously question my Alpsuality. Man, oh man. Yep, this is going to go on my Octagon v2 and I'm gonna get Silver + Titanium grey for the Octagon. This just changed all my plans. Hoooooly crap.

I'm ready to say hello to my first GMK key cap GB purchase. Finally something that has enough pull to seriously blow my mind and ready my wallet.

It didn't have hhkb support either.

Granted, it's a special set so you can't keep the price too high.

It would make more sense to have some 1.5 mods. It didn't really need hhkb support as much.

Would it be possible to add ISO keys (i.e. enter and short shift) to the dark pack? I really dig the look, but as an ISO user it would probably look odd with enter and left shift missing.

Just the poll. The poll's been up there for a while. https://www.massdrop.com/vote/gmk-keycap-sets/result

The total number of votes is over 600, but SNES has over 300. Still, it's in the lead by a huge margin.

If all the keys are R4 does that mean they will be interchangeable like DSA? I.e. If you wanted to have a Dvorak/Colemak layout?

I've never seen an all R4 Cherry layout, does anyone have any pictures as examples?

I think that it means that the bottom row is all R4 instead of R4+R5 like some other sets.

I was into ALPS several years ago and then, I learned there was no high quality key caps for ALPS, later I found that Cherry double shots are some of the best key caps you can use and that they are only available for Cherry mount, since then, I changed to Cherry and I am very happy now, typing on this super nice OGs. This SNES will be my first full GMK set.

It will be a long time before we get anything near the level of thickness as GMK/JTK or BSP/Gateron, but there are some OG doubleshots and dye subs that are I'd say .5mm shy of the thickness of the Cherry equivalent. Thick for Alps, kinda thick for Cherry. Strangely, the thick ABS Alps caps seem to heighten the pitch (compared to the Tai Hao DS caps). PBT definitely lowers it.

Yeah, this set is gonna be great. It's creating almost the same spark that Jukebox and the prospect of having a red Octagon did in combination. Now having a Silver Octagon with a Titanium Grey alu base + this set is just calling to me. Ahh, I'm so hopeless in this hobby!
