i don't know how you guys function in Windows without the window key. it definitely looks nicer, but i thought that everyone was just using linux or something

i use win+E, win+M, win+R, win+number row key, win+arrow keys, win+prt scrn, and more on a day to day basis

I prefer grey or black as they go with more sets. Silver only really looks good with classic beige based sets IMO

Totally agree black and silver pair nicely with more sets, but beige + silver looks soo good. What more could you want?

You guys are starting to make me reconsider Winkey...do I need it? I use it... but I want the cool-club look.
Just remap the winkey lol

Same here and although some people might think they can do without the Windows key with Ctrl + Esc, the functions you have mentioned are not that frequently used by "average" PC users so maybe that's why people think they will be fine lol

I'm willing to bet many people do not know what the combination of Win+(x) can do except for maybe Win+R which I would guess a lot of people know :D

Just remap the key, I personally never use right alt so that gets remapped to winkey (when necessary).

hm i guess that works. binding it to a two key combination is silly, but you're right in saying that right shift is pretty useless

Hi LZ, is there a way to check what I ordered? Cos I forgot what colour I placed, only remembered the WKL and brass plates, not sure if I got any spares or things like that.

I agree, but within a keyboard community I figure it would be pretty common knowledge, I think it's just a cool/trendy thing but whatever works for you. I need both L/R Win keys... win+e/r/d/l all day.

Due to my button mapping preferences I only have 3 Keys on the bottom row that I regularly use. Spacebar and both Alts. Then I usually put Win on left Ctrl and Fn on right Ctrl. Seems to be working well so far for me. Now just slap Ctrl on Caps Lock and you're done.

I've swapped a GON TKL pcb with a tx87 pcb in my tx87 board so i would assume it would be the same for this LZ board
The TX87 PCB is A87 sized, so any other A87 sized will work too.  Meaning you could find the appropriate TKL A87 sized pcb's any of these will work

TX
Gon
PS2AVR
Alphas - alps with new plate

Thanks!

Just wanted to let you know that the GON PCB isn't a direct fit with the last run of these LZ boards. Spacebar is flipped, wires will hit the plate, and there's some clearance issues at the USB port as well.

When comparing a "stricter" A87 PCB like the Leeku TX87:

Spacebar Stabilizer mounts are 180 degree rotated (the TX87 also sticks down a bit, and in reverse, doesn't fit a GON NerD case even if you factor in the USB orientation)
Right Shift stabilizer is also 180 degree rotated
USB port (default) on GON NerD TKL is on the bottom of the PCB (you will have to request one to be produced with it flipped upside down)

I don't know why people keep blindly saying it'll fit into everything out there :D I think I've only seen yuktsi and kin25 make the changes to their plates to accomodate both types of PCBs. The TX87 has HUGE stabilizer holes to accomodate both types of PCBs, and the TGR Jane has more subtle changes to its plate.

Hi LZ,

Will the surface of the Aluminum treated? I prefer smooth Surface like TX series. Or will it have similar surface texture like the Ergo? Thanks!

I will release the samples soon.

We could use some samples. I am torn between gray winkey with 7u spacebar and wkl silver.  :-\
WKL Silver my dude, it's a classic

I would get dark grey if you're not sure.  silver is kinda plain.

Thanks for your suggestions. Thinking hard about them. Basically, this (from hwood34):

I've owned the 360C, 356CL DGE, and several black boards.

Get dark grey...

Is Dark Gray much better than the black?
I originally put down for Black.. but at the same time I'm getting a Blackbird for myself in black so I'm now torn between Dark Gray and Black lol

I wonder how the Black on this LZ CLS will look compared to Duck Blackbird.
Are they 2 different kind of Blacks?

I just wish I could see the color sample after anodizing to decide for 100%

Meh, I've gotten other color boards and black just fits in too well with my speakers, monitor, monitor mount, and mouse. It also is just as neutral as grey and silver (thus these are the 3 colors offered). Silver looks good with contrasting dark colored sets and beige (imo). Grey and black also look good with many sets, just a preference I feel.

Right.  I initially thought about silver but I felt that it would stand out too much on my desk so that was a turn off.
If I had a money tree I would also have gone for the silver WKL.

For now.. I'm gonna stick with the black LZ-CLS :D

NERD = OK (Space bar stabilizer is no problem) bluetooth version is Incompatibility!!
Alphs = OK (alps with new plate)

No, and I think its a good thing - switches feel more stable.

I didn't see it mentioned in the OP, but do LZ's plates usually allow for switch top removal?

Yeah, not sure about the plates in this GB, but the plate for my LZ-FE kit does have the switch top removal cutouts.

Yeah, I did some more looking around after I commented; looks like the SE also had the cutouts. It is not a deal breaker in the slightest for me if it doesn't have it. I was mainly just curious.

The plate picture in the OP has no cutouts.

Hey LZ,

Will you declare a low value on the package customs declaration, so that we don't get taxed as hell?

of course :D
