I'm so torn between this board and the CLS. I mean with tax returns right around the corner two new boards won't be a bad thing, but I may have to decide between the two :(

This board is 100% original and has some badass colors, at least get this one!
Yeah for sure. I mentioned it yesterday that the grey really stands out in my opinion. That being said it's originality is the reason why it's so hard. The CLS reminds me of the 456gt.

I had a 456GT up until a few weeks ago when I sold it, and the LZ-CLS might as well be called the LZ-456GT...

I had one a few years ago. I miss it dearly. You had the one in pink right? I was tempted to pm you a few times about it

Yes I sold it to someone in Asia.  If you're missing the 456GT, the LZ might be good too since it has a better PCB and a removable cable.  Just a bit boring compared to the Mira.

Although I agree with you it would be nice to have a simple board again. No leds. Gonna miss the ps2 adapter though

LEDs are always optional for any board.  ;)  And you can get a USB->PS2 cable or adapter.  Both the "LZ-456GT" and MIRA will use the same TX87 PCB.

you only have to pay off loans when you finish college

just don't finish college, and you'll never have to pay them off

The main distinction this keyboard has is it's strong and unique theme, the idea behind the project.  I liked M65-a for that reason as well--it's unique at the moment and had interesting colors offered, and EXENT is also unique.  There are many keyboard designs that are endlessly derivative of each other and often vary just ever so slightly in details and can be ordered in the same standard black/silver/gray colors.  The Dolphin has a cool, unique design as well.

The texture is more like a 360C - smooth - not like a cheat or Koala. The LZ-SK or the Ergo board are the closest approximate boards I can think of. Maybe the TGR Jane CE would have the same finish.

What can we expect out of the grey. Will it be similar to the sample posted? With that subtle green?

I wasn't sure if I was going to buy this initially, because it'll be the most that I've spent on a keyboard, but this design is just so striking every time I look at it, I just need it!

As stated in the color descriptions in the OP, it's supposed to have a light green tint.

Brass is heavier for the same size. Will likely sound deeper.

To add to what other posters have mentioned.

Brass also naturally tarnishes over time. Not necessarily a  bad thing, just a different aesthetic.

Some people prefer the more "worn" and "aged" looking patina.

Smooth, I like that word. I have never had any of these boards in hand before, so these don't speak to me texture-wise. As long as the Mira's texture does not feel like fine-grained sandpaper, it's all good. Were the Cheat and Koala boards finishes rough to the hand?

Just to confirm, these are PCB mount stabilizers right? and the extra wide slot on the left means we can do 6.25 or 7u?

Correct. The wide slot is for both layouts, and the other two cutouts are for the 6.25u (left), and 7u (right) aka winkeyless.

The best excuse rn would be that the Dolphin was just teased... then again, if you have enough money for both that is no excuse anymore.

For the first 57 slots for engraving, it's going to be on the square weight of the insert so the only way to see it is if it's opened right?

Also, will the engraving be offered for both steel weights as well as on the brass?

Are there any renders or pictures of prototypes of these?

Thanks.

Honestly i think it would be cool if it was visible on the outside of the weight (though pretty tiny font) and if money allowed we got some cool planetary design printed onto it, kind of like how Rama would like to do this with the m65-a weights 159233-0

Also I had a question, i know in the interest check someone was pitching maybe running another buy (if they could find the dimensions) for a steel/aliminum diffuser replacement instead of the Acrylic diffuser this comes with for those of us not planning to use the RGB. Did anything ever come of that? Or is it still in the works?

I think the engraving will be on the inside part of the weights.  If you order 2 weights, only one will be engraved (your primary selected weight), but yes, you can choose either brass or steel for the engraving.

That's still TBD, because the factory's closed for the Chinese New Year, and communication is limited for now.

The current plan is to only have the number engraved, as each engraving requires a separate CAD file.   If more becomes available (probably for extra fee), ninjadoc will let us know.

Is there a limit to how many each person can buy?
How do we buy more than one?
Can the first 57 have the engraving on more than one?

  • Is there a limit to how many each person can buy?
  • How do we buy more than one?
  • Can the first 57 have the engraving on more than one?
Logic would suggest:
  • No.
  • 1 form = 1 keyboard, submit more forms.
  • What's the point of having two (for example) 3/57s? Of course you can't.
I doubt the answer you'd receive from anyone else would be different; I'll be very surprised if they are.
