The moderation team has discussed kin25's recent history of selling custom keyboard kits on geekhack, and his recent track record of sales of premade kits appears to have been good.  Combined with this preorder thread being for kits that are already partially completed, we decided that kin25 should get a second chance to prove that he has learned from his past experience (when he ran into a lot of trouble with his first group buy) and will use it to be significantly more successful this time around.

As always, the Caveat Emptor applies to any group buys / preorders on this site.

The PCB doesn't support RGB ( for custom per ley color) lighting right?

Correct, RGB for the diffuser yes, but the in-switch LEDs only support normal solid color 2 pin LEDs

The RGB diffuser that's sandwiches between the 2 aluminum pieces is made up of 8 parts, the gaskets can replace any or all of those parts. For example, you could have the metal gaskets in just the corners, or replace all the diffuser with the gaskets if you don't like the lighting

I don't know the details of the 1st GB, but I purchased a TX-87 from Kin approximately 1 month ago. I spoke with Kin on the TeleGram app, and had my KB in hand less than a week after our first comm. Mr. Kin was PHENOMENAL from the start, he was very friendly throughout the whole experience, he answered all my questions, sent me tons of pictures. The KB arrived in pristine condition (packaging was outstanding), and was very surprised all gifts included with my order. I couldn't be happier with my experience with Mr. Kin.

Yeah, from my understanding the v2 needs either the diffuser or gasket; can't be used without either.

I am also wondering the same question. As I am looking for a PCB for my Dolch G80-1813. Is this PCB like the Leeku and do you have pictures on the PCB?

You can use this pcb in cherry housing.
Bottom rgbleds contact with bottom case of cherry housing.
You have to choose one method.
1) desoldering some rgbleds.
2) cutting plastic housing. (Not difficult)

Correct.

I'm very interested, but I have some questions.

  • Is the PCB a Leeku MX1800 or something else?
  • Is the layout customizable?
  • Would it be possible to get a darker colored plate?
  • If I want to solder it myself, aside from switches and stabilizers, what else would I need minimum?
  • Is it possible to have stepped caps-lock?

I may also be interested in a PCB for a Cherry G80-1800 case.

Leeku designed this pcb

  • Is the layout customizable?
Yes, winkey, winkeyless, iso, ansi

  • Would it be possible to get a darker colored plate?
Not now, but I can anodize darker color alu plate.($35)

  • If I want to solder it myself, aside from switches and stabilizers, what else would I need minimum?

My bad. I didn't look close enough at the image. It all sounds great. Thank you!

I don't need leds for the switches. Would I need to get leds for the diffuser or is that part of everything?

Oh so if I choose the brass plate I need not have this option right? What advantages does a brass plate have over the SS and aluminium? Sorry for all the noob questions. Just started off buying these custom boards. TIA!

Brass weight looks good. It is all.
Brass plate is heavier and softer.
Less stress for fingers is merit.
