That's what I ended up doing. I had planned on doing my own color scheme, but the more I looked at the carbon color scheme the more it grew on me. It also helped having a ton of pictures of it. The only bad thing is that it forced me to spend $230 on SA Carbon, which I hadn't planned on buying. In the end, this keyboard is going to be almost $900 (switches and caps included)!

Are you trying to scare away some new peeps?  :rolleyes: :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

Just kidding.

I'm worse than you, now I want a matching desktop color for it. It's probably gonna cost me $2000 . So board+switches+caps+desktop+new monitor for the desktop, the board is gonna cost me $3000  :eek: :eek: :eek:

Ha, you beat me. I accept defeat! That will look really rad though. Definitely share your setup when/if you finally get all of that assembled!

Hey Jay.

Where will the board be shipped from?

Since shipping to Asia is cheaper, I'm guessing it's gonna ship from China

Does anyone have any info for how this works in regard to US Customs (or is there a general thread about this)? I've never "imported" anything like this before.

Thanks mate

US custom is pretty generous for importing, at least compact to EU custom, they normally let go stuff declared under $100 freely, which I did several times already.

And that's what I'm planning to do for Moon GB, unless buyer requests otherwise

So remember to count that up with a KB on 500-600 USD that will end up with roughly 180 USD in customs  as a thank you extra ;)

I think he meant seeing all the colors in one photo not in board form but a sample size, so we can see how different colors look next to one another and in similar lighting. The only sample I see of the starry night is the plate which you can hardly see.

I would like to be able to see titanium gray and starry night next to each other to have a clear picture

Gotcha, that’s fair. I’d also like to see that colour combination. I’m so torn on colours right now.

Same with me. too confused to decide a color.
That's the main reason I haven't fill the form yet.  :confused:

Here are pics for starry night and titanium grey in comparison

Yes correct! :) i dont think i will go ahead with this buy if its not possible to see colors correctly since the price this will run up too! i am sure colors will have a good outcome but for my own justification i have to be sure haha

Sorry EVE didn't have all the color samples made, if you are torn between a few colors I can always ask for specific pics.

I think this has been asked before but on the last photo, whats the color of the plate? it looks somewhat Blueish which looks incredible!

thanks!

The first IC thread for the Moon had an update regarding the addition of indents on the underside of the board to accommodate rubber bumpons. We can see what looks like four of them in the last CAD picture in the OP here. I am not sure these are indents because they seem to have the same diameter as the screw holes (which I assume to usually be smaller than bumpons) and only 4/8 screw holes are shown.
Is the Moon still getting eight of these indents?

I've edited my order about 6 times now but I think I finally decided on a color combo. The only thing im worried about now is the stainless vs brass logo. Since this isn't removable I cant just get one of each, is it possible to get a comparison of the two before the GB is over?

Sorry, brass logos haven't been made yet as only stainless steel was offered for CN GB.

Here it is one of two things:
you either get to pay it at the door to the post man (didn't happen to me in the last 6 months though) or they'll tell you that they couldn't find out the true value of the package (maybe look at the customs form or open it and see if there is an invoice inside then? smh), unless you call them they won't tell you who sent it and definitely not how much it was declared for or how much you have to pay, because they "aren't sure".
In that case you can drive to the customs office (only 45-60min per way for me since it's on the other side of the town) where you can usually wait for anywhere from 15min to around 3 hours depending on how bad they are feeling that day and how many breaks they decide to take.
Once they call you in you have to open the package in front of them (I won't even imagine what this would look like if you ordered... uhm... personal items), if there is an invoice inside they'll take that to calculate fees (again, they are allowed to open it, so why don't they try that beforehand?), if not you have to bring a PHYSICAL COPY of your order confirmation for them to calculate the fees off of.

All in all it's a bad experience that got worse and worse in the last 6 months, at times where there usually were 1-2 people waiting at the customs office there now are at least 4-6 people at any given time. They also recently started sending EVERYTHING to the customs office which is quite annoying.

Ah yeah, here we also get the opportunity to pay it directly to the postman at the door, but he shows up at 10am, so you're never at home at that time when you've got a job

From the last IC:

06-Apr-2017 Update 2:
I’ve got some great feedback from the community. And I’d like to add a few things to the prototype.

1.   The weight is not polished for the prototype, but will be for GB;
2.   See update 4 I’ll suggest Indents on the bottom case to be added for rubber feet;
3.   See update 4 At this point we are planning to use PCBs from the designer of ZZ96;
4.   ISO comptibility check;
5.   For GB we will provide as many color as possible. Different colors can be ordered for top and bottom cases as long as the MOQ for each color for either case is meet. The GB will also be available in China so most likely you’ll be fine;

But this would be EXTREMELY nice to have confirmed since its not listed in the OP. and alot of things have changed since the IC

From the OP:

Specifications:
Both WK and WKL layout available;
Supports ANSI and ISO enter;
Regular and stepped caps-lock supported;
TMK firmware, fully programmable PCB;
8 degree typing surface;

However I still wanted to make sure, seems odd to manufacture the prototypes without it. On a similar note, does this board support a short left shift (full ISO) as well? The prototype does not.

Should you be saying things like this out loud? Sounds illegal to me ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ... also if the package gets lost it won't be covered by insurance (atleast not over 100$). Correct me if i'm wrong ^^

Receiving it like this is not illegal and no one in China (where it's shipped from) will enforce this there either. Also, if this was mass produced $100 wouldn't be that far off.

Insurance can also be done individually from the declared value (idk if that's the case here though).

You should try coming up with a good story in case it lands at the customs office beforehand though, unless you want to bring a copy of the original invoice and pay full tax on it.

They're not mass produced. They're CNC'd individually. Last time I talked to EVE I got a quote of quite a bit more than $100 per board.

I didn't imply that, is said IF this was mass produced.

Just realized the form already closed yesterday. Is it still possible to change the color?

It's a shame that it has been smoky recently due to wildfire, but it also gives me a reason to come back for another trip.

Just hang in there for a few days and the invoice will fly out.

I'll keep the form till end of this week. Payment will be postponed for a week too.

Does this mean we will have until August 7th to pay invoices?
