DSS Overview

DSS is a keycap profile created by Signature Plastics, a well-known manufacturer of custom keycaps.

The DSS profile features a spherical shape with a slightly concave top, providing a comfortable and ergonomic typing experience. The keycaps are sculpted, meaning that they have different shapes and sizes depending on their position on the keyboard. This allows for a more natural and efficient typing experience.

Overall, the DSS keycap profile offers a high-quality, visually appealing, and comfortable option for those looking to customize their mechanical keyboard.

Signature Plastics does not currently have convex DSS spacebar molds, so the small bars will all be produced in the DSA profile.

Short bars are all DSA as the DSS SB molds don't exist yet. The long bars are convex spacebar molds.

Hey everyone. Unfortunately the GB numbers just aren't where they need to be at this point. I've decided to cancel the DSS White on Black group buy. I think there were a number of factors that lead to the numbers being a little too thin to continue.

Next time around I can see a kitting more similar to DSS Carpinteria with a base kit and some child kits and all around a little simpler/cheaper to produce. The vendors will be processing order cancelations and refunds over the next couple days. Thank you all for your interest and support.

Sorry to see this, would've thought there would still be a lot of call for a wob that supports more exotic layouts (Norde dude here). A lot of people I've talked with still seem unfamiliar with the profile, which might have an impact? Hope it'll work out.

There seems to be a lot going on right now in terms of GBs. Personally, I was holding out until Aug 1 to buy in, as I suspect some others were as well. I was really looking forward to the colevrak kit. The way it was designed was very cost effective for us colevrak users. Hoping to see it back in some form when DSS WoB returns.

Actually, that's a full-alpha Colemak+ kit, but it won't cover Dvorak, which is one of the most popular alternative layouts.  It's an efficient stand-alone kit for Colemak, Colemak DH, Colemak DHm, Workman, Norman, QWPR, and Asset.

QWERTY Alphas combined with Colevrak+ Add-on would cover everything above plus Dvorak, QGMLWY, and Wide Mod.  And of course, QWERTY, which would come in handy for re-sale if that's something you might do down the road.

Sad to see it is postponed. So long the rekitting doesn’t remove ortho support and doesn’t force us to buy a whole base set just to get the alphas and numbers I am still interested in this!

PS it would be insane if there was a way of getting RGB mods for the ortho lay-out.
