Mechanical Keyboard Summer Survey!
« on: Tue, 04 August 2015, 10:55:55 »
Hi everyone,
I put together this mechanical keyboard survey to gather everyone's opinion, and I'll share the results next week! It'll be fun to see the most favorite switches, manufacturers, etc. No login required, it should only take 2-3 minutes to complete, only one page. Thanks!

On a slight note, when you listed switches they seemed to be in a random order that wasn't consistent all the way through, so it was a little annoying to search for the answer I was looking for each time. Also, you asked for the most overrated brand twice

I just set it to randomize the order, I'll switch it so it's consistent. I also removed the dupe, thanks!

I'm missing punks in there too. He would have had my vote.

The flipped spacebar question doesn't have enough options. The only spacebars that need flipping are DCS and some OEM, SA and Cherry profile don't. So I sometimes do, and I sometimes don't.

"huh?" doesn't seem to be an appropriate response for this situation.

Hmm... "How much have you spent on mechanical keyboards in the past year?".
Do I really want to go through my PayPal history and find out? ...

BTW, I did not consider Topre mechanical when answering this survey.

I was other on almost everything and my total spent may be a bit low but I'm not sure, it'd take me a while to get that number.

Edit: If you want better answers you should add more options. Like the artisan section was pretty limiting. Missing booper, nubb, and punks to name a few.

People in the 1980s, in general, were clearly just better than we are now in every measurable way.

The dumber the reason the more it must be done

Thanks for all the responses, almost 500 so far! This is going to be a great survey!

I know there's no way I could have gotten everyone's favorite brands, but for the next round I'll be sure to include all the most popular from the write-ins I get.

wow, 500 responses? You must have asked r/mk too :P

Only thing with this survey that really irked me was the inability to make multiple selections. I don't have a "favorite" switch, I assess my favorites based on environment and/or task at hand. (i.e. I prefer MX Greens at home, but at work I'm all about Topre).

I'm looking forward to seeing the responses for the "overrated manufacturer". Personally, I think DasKeyboard is the most overrated out of all of those mentioned, followed by WASD in a close 2nd due to their CODE keyboard. Edit: I wonder who put "custom build" for that one. Maybe someone who is a little salty about a GON purchase? idk.

Let's see if we can get more than the 840 responses from the last survey. :p

Good luck!

Filco seemed conspicuous in its absence.

And Alps don't exist.
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

Yeah they took up several "other" slots for me xD . Then again, nowadays most people only know about/think in terms of Cherry anyway :P .

I spent a lot this year. And it is not even over yet :( I hope it winds down, but at the end of the year I am going to go through my PP and see how much I actually earned/lost.
