Yeah! Nice review of my old Focus. Glad you find it really interesting. Your much more of a collector than I am so it makes sense for you to have it. So it went from storage for 10+ years by some collector up north in California to me and then to you.

You said that these switches are "almost linear", how is their tactility compared to lets say MX Blues or SKCM White ALPS?

Kinda like MX Brown but a tad less still. If you type normally you can barely feel it.

I pulled out the respective boards for you to test them next to each other: they are noticeably less tactile than MX blues, and considerably less than SKCM white.

In fact they don't really feel like they have a tactile "bump" at all. I'd say pretty much all the tactile feeling stems from the shockwave generated by the switch clicker when it hits the switch housing.

Yeah, when obra tried the cyan Omron laptop keyboard I have, he proposed “clicky linear” as a description. I don’t think that’s quite right, but it’s a reasonable first approximation.
