Was wondering if you guys had any plans to bring in the Shine III and, if so, any idea as to release time?

I'm interested too. Since all shine 2 are out of stock... maybe waiting for a brand new shine III worth it. Any way to sign up for a newsletter, or to get noticed when a certain product is restocked?

Considering the Shine 3 was just announced at a huge event... doubt that they'd trust distributors with such information beforehand!

I noticed from a post in the keyboard section that pccasgear.com is getting the zero shine 6/21/13. I'm hoping that means mechanicalkeyboards.com will get them around the same time.  I check the incoming list daily!

Maybe even sooner - it tends to take a bit longer for new stuff to arrive down here.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

My best guess is next month, but still no telling.  It sounds like we'll have Year of the Snake before Shine III's.

I've known about Shine III's for almost 2 months now, and it's very hard to bite my tongue for so long... I wish they didn't tell us ahead of time lol

As always, we will do our best to have every available version of every available model at our store ASAP.  That's how we roll with Ducky ;)

Still no word on Shine 3 ETA --- the very first ETA I heard was June / July, but I highly doubt it will be this month.

I would be very surprised if Ducky didn't have a TKL Shine 3.  They should have both variations as they did with Shine 2.

Shine 3 will not be aluminum.  The Year of the Snake has the aluminum case.  (that guy's video is quite confusing as he is constantly talking about one keyboard while he's holding another...)

Updated ETA: August 2nd

This includes Full Size only, but I have been told they have plans to release TKL Shine 3 (no ETA yet).

Ducky Mini design has not yet been finalized, so no ETA.

For those of you looking for a Shine II TKL, they still have some Chinese version ones still in stock.
I bought one and it worked fine for English. I was going to replace the stock keycaps anyways.

The year of the Snake has been advertised as having an aluminum case that would cause it to be priced higher.

This ^

The price is almost entirely due to the Aluminum frame.

The plastic frame Year of the Dragon, Rabbit, etc. were around $169.  It actually could have been worse as Aluminum Frames usually bump the price $100+ by themselves.

If you're talking about the YOTS, I don't think its a question of how long they'll be sold for... more like how long until they get sold out. It seems like with these limited edition boards, they make a certain number of them and distributors get a certain number to sell til they run out.

Actually, I don't know what the YOTS exclusives are aside from the obvious colored snake.

Yep.  The Aluminum Case is certainly the main difference.  Other minor differences:

1) Spacebar Logo
2) YOTS in Mandarin (?) next to arrow keys - I personally love the way this looks.
3) Etched serial number (### / 999) in Aluminum Frame on back edge.

There could be other differences, but I haven't been specifically told what they are.
