Hello everybody!

Interested in comething new and fresh? Want something unorthodox? Then these keycaps might be just the thing for you!
I'd like to introduce and check your interest in a new keycap set I've been working on for a while:

I was inspired by the books by Lewis Carroll, and have tried to capture their feel and love for weirdness, symmetry and mathematics. As you might have noticed, the legends use a completely custom font I created along with novelty keycaps.

Comments on the future:

I have some sketches for 3D sculpted "Artisan" keycaps, that I might sculpt in 3D and you might want to print. Or maybe an Artisan would like to cooperate with me on this, and we could create something together. I'm open for suggestions! Also am planning a future rerelease in a sculpted profile, possibly in additional colors. Oh, and I am thinking about releasing fitting desk / mouse mats, already made a picture of Alice playing Cricket, fot that. Stay tuned.

Anticipating some FAQ, here are some answers:

Q: "Why DSA?"
A: I like the profile, love pbt and am trying to use PMK's offer to produce dye sublimated sets at the moment.

Q: "What about profile X?"
A: I'd love to run this set in a subsequent round in another profile, like XDA, Sculpted SA, KAT, or some other spherical profile, if there is enough interest.

Q: "Will there be support for keyboard Y?"
A: It would be great to have support for as many keyboards as possible, including ergodox. Suggest your favorites and comment!

Q: "I know it's a long shot, but what about ALPS?"
A: I'd be happy for PMK to produce this in DSA ALPS in a future round:)

Really nice!! I think the font is a little too large though. for some reason the legends look huge.

The novelties look nice too. I'm thinking you can add just the floating smile from the cheshire cat on a novelty spacebar. Not too big, and maybe offset to one side. just throwing out ideas.

the pure white base is a little bright for my tastes, but I do think it looks good overall.

I like the idea. I'm not in love with the enter key being a novelty. Also, I'd be interested in a "suited" num-row (like you have with the QAJK keys, but all 1 suit).

Updated all kits, after listening to the feedback from the survey. Thank you everybody who filled it in!
One notable change is that I moved the 6.25 space from the alphas to the TKL mods, this will mean that ortho and ergodox buyers won't have to pay for an unused large cap, while the rest of us won't care

A tiny bit more cream colored (like the SA carbon) than white.
The color in the kits is off (too yellow / saturated), I'm working on 3D renders atm, where I can get it right.

What's happening at the moment is that we're waiting in the cue at Signature Plastics

The first run is roughly planned after the holidays.

I really dig this set. The legends are good enough that I'm not even worried about what colorway it would end up being (the ones you rendered are all very clean and compliment the legends well.) I would be in to buy some version of this if it goes to GB (probably something for a 30-60 or a numpad) Cheers and GL.

While we wait for production samples and kit prices, I have a tiny update

1. A new render of Iris split ortho keyboard:

2. A peek at one of the additions to the set I've been working on: a 3d printable artisan keycaps:

I've just modeled Alice sofar, but have sketches for additional characters also. Thinking of releasing these 3d models through shapeways, with minimal or zero commission. I will probably do an IC for them soon as well, and one other thing I have planned and am working on.
Looking for feedback on this, so let me know what you think.

I just noticed the IC when l search for anything new from LINGUA FRANCA & this set came up. I love this set & hope LINGUA FRANCA ends up producing this DSA set.

Don't believe so, it's ways around it, like having similar logos, not using anything directly related to the "alice in wonderland" property. Look at SA "troubled minds" & it's clear "joker" likeness.

The kits depicted there are not 100% correct, as most have been updated, but I've contacted PMK about that, hope to see that fixed soon. Then I'm going to order the lot!

EDIT: The set name was changed also, it's called "UnAlice" now... I will make a post here with the actual kits and info as soon as it's settled with PMK.

Stumbled upon this GB when I visited the PMK site. Great set. But I did notice some things after going through the whole thread.

1) The 6.25 space key is not shown as part of TKL mod kit.

2) You have created a separate kit for three 6.25 space bars.

3) Could you add one space bar to the TKL mod that will be nice.

It's a shame that the coloured mods didn't happen. If the keys were a more pure white it would be easy enough to die them whatever colour you want but probably won't turn out so well with the biege-y colour. This is still one of the more exciting key sets in a long time though, so congrats on getting it out there in one form or another.

That does seem odd to have to buy a space bar pack to have any type of space bar at all. But I suppose that's what we must do.

Alright, let me try to answer a few questions.

I am still emailing back and forth with SP (manufacturer) to settle some inconsistencies with the kits shown on the website. That's why I haven't posted before.

0) This set is only available on the PMK (SP) website, so no EU distributor atm. Unless someone is willing to become one and place a bulk order at PMK (like 7bit did with his set)?
1) The 6.25 spacebar will be part of the alphas kit, so no need to have it in the other kits or buy it separetely (Originally I wanted to have a separate spacebar kit, so ortho/ 40% people wouldn't have to pay for a key they'd not use), I do recommend the red spacebar though!
2) The 6.25 spacebar kit contains the red and the green one (and the white will be moved to alpha's)
3) See Q nr 1, spacebar adds about 1 or 2 $ to the price of alpha kit I believe.
4) I am thinking of running this set in a different profile in the future, PBT has my preference so KAT sounds promising. EU and Asian proxies will definitely be part of that (I'm EU based myself, and will have to pay custom duties too). Will have to rework the kits to include the different rows of course.

Colored mods/alphas: as the set is already quite large, PMK didn't want to run alternative colors yet, if it will be popular, it's definitely possible, so let's hope

Also - the 2d images are a bit misleading, please check the renders in this thread - the white is much more white that creamy yellow, the pantone is called "Winter White" btw. Combining them with other mods would clash more because of the font, which is unique to this set.

Oh geeze. I was going to have KAT Atlantis be my first GB, but this set is verrry nice. I'm just getting into MKs and want a good light-colored set (have also been eyeballing Alchemy and trying to convince myself to not buy it). I really like the DSA profile and I love love LOVE the font on these (that backspace key is awesome!). I'm glad you clarified that the keycaps are more white than the ivory currently shown on the PMK website. I like both actually, but would rather have a white set.

. I really dig in the font. It elevates the set to a whole new level. Imagine a simple font on this, dread to even think. I Don't mind the white or creamy yellow either one is fine for me. Finally how long will the GB window be open ?

Here are some answers to the latest questions:

- The planned 'winter white' color is the one intended, no plans for other white versions
- the DSA set should be available at PMK for as long as people will want to buy it, since it's more of a 'print on demand with PBT, they I think it will be a while.
- No real plans to add another profile YET. KAT would require reworking of the set because of the row profiles, and I have not yet found any manufacturer for it. I will see how DSA sells and will do a IC / poll before making it available in other profiles, so get it now, while there is a relatively short waiting period before it's produced!

I really love this set, but the communication on this has been lacking. Tomorrow is the last day for preorders, but have we had a final confirmation of what the kits are? When PMK first released the preorder, there were pastel accent keys in some kits. Seems like that's not the case anymore from the PMK website, but nothing has ever been explicitly stated either way.

Hmm... as far as I know if you preorder, you are guaranteed to have it soon. Otherwise there will probably be a longer waiting period (unless your choice of kits will be in stock), since other sets will be produced in the meantime, due to limited capacity. I expect it to be more of an issue if you want a kit that is more rare than alphas or TKL mods. The price should not go up after presale.

Looking into it, there seems to have been some confusion with PMK. They said the presale ran until 2/17 on the actual item page, and their FB page as of Feb 10th, but then yesterday they changed it to "ending today."

Pretty sad if I missed out because of that.

I just wanted to pop back in and ask if you knew what happened to the inverted caps lock yet? Understandable if it got removed for whatever reason, but I quite liked that one, and it was/is showing on PMK's page, but I didn't get one in my kit. Was that an error, or was that key never produced?

Yeah, that is a render based on one of the pre-final designs. The caps lock key was indeed removed a while ago, sorry. The previews of the individual kits on their website are correct though.
