1391401 or 1386085?
« on: Sun, 28 June 2009, 10:57:45 »
I always thought the number on the back cover of the keyboard should match the sticker on the inside backplate where the keyboard itself is mounted to. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Did he just swapped the internals of a 1386085 into a 1391401 housing?

The board is pretty clean on the outside and decently clean on the inside.

Rivets seems to be ok and I found a spot with hot glue

No, he didn't.
1386085 is a p/n of an assembly of a back plate and an actuator panel.
some of my 1391401s do also have a back plate assembly with exactly same p/n as yours. Have not yet checked all of my Ms though.
Some of 1391406(UK model) might have a back plate numbered as 1386719.
According to one of my MCA mates, the number 1386719 is also written on the back label in small fonts along with 1391406.

interesting pics. One of these days I have to check my own rivets. Hot glue seems to be a popular alternative/substitute fix for broken rivets.

I don't know anything about what to use to fix rivets but it seems like most of mine are still intact. I also never knew that the font color on the 'alt' keys were green, so is the 'SysRq' labeled in the front side of the keycap on the 'Print Screen' key.

On my Model F, even the plastic casing had it's own model number... IBM seems to be rather meticulous about this stuff.

To draw attention to the fact that SysRq is Alt+PrtSc.

Does your model m have support wires on the enter key and plus key in the number pad? Maybe you'd have to pop off the enter key to see.Thanks.
