Where can I find an Esc key cap?
« on: Tue, 30 June 2009, 16:16:43 »
A while ago, I picked an IBM M5-2 keyboard out of the trash since I liked the trackball. I use it on my main computer every day. However, one thing that's a little annoying at times is the fact that it's missing two key-caps: one on the Esc key and another on the I key. I was able to find a place where they have a cap for the I key but I just can't find anyone with a cap for the Esc key. Does anyone know where I can find an Esc key cap? It's not that big of a deal but it'll just look and feel a tad better with all the key-caps intact.

Unicomp should be able to help.  If not, I have had luck in the past getting some keycaps from clickykeyboards.com.

Considering Unicomp make custom coloured keys, they might be able to make you a red one =P

It's almost as if clickykeyboards read your post before offering their services on this one

Are these boards often being thrown in the bin in the US? :P

I've gone on clickykeyboards.com and have found they have an "I" key for sale but have run out of Esc keys.

I've never tried contacting Unicomp though...I bet they won't have much trouble conjuring up an extra generic Esc cap. Thanks for the idea!

They sell the whole set for $20.

Also, in the link posted above, aren't the fonts to near of the border to be M keys? (at least comparing mine)
