Apolgies to anyone who was bidding on it. This I believe the first industrial M to be ebay Aus in 4 years, i think.
I can bid but the postage is ridiculous. $30 from Sydney to Brisbane.!!!! Oh and it says in the description it was made in 1989, this is wrong. Look at the pic, it says 1992.

I'm going for it actually- I spotted this when it first went on ebay.

Since as far as I know I'm the only person in Australia to do bolt mods, I figure it should be mine! I should even be able to do pickup too.

As horrendously selfish as it is, part of me was glad that geekhack was down because of this very auction!

Aplogies to you mr626. I also do boltmods. Where do you get your bolts? (i get mine from Boltmasters)

Are you sure? postage from Aus to US and vie versa can be over $100 sometimes. And I wouldn't be suprised if the keyboard is going to go over $100 dollars anyway.

Cool, glad there are more bolt-modders around. I got my nuts/bolts from the US via a member on here (I ordered enough to do around 10 boards).

As for a1usedcomputers, my advice would be AVOID.

Riffraff, I've PM'ed you a really good deal on the US ebay for another industrial M, if you want.
why was a1usedcomputer bad to deal with?
I know they wouldn't respond to any of my questions.
Anyway, I bought a Model F AT off taobao. Total was $154 and the transaction turned out really well. A lot of people say taobao isn't that great but I find it to be quite easy and reliable. And they have lads of Model M keyboards on there. But use a agent like Mistertao unless you are good with chinese.

Thanks, we'll see. I swear some people don't know how to use ebay though. Why do people bid before the closing minutes of the auction? All they are doing is driving the price up.

I would really like this, but I'm not getting into a bidding war over it. I have a price I'm willing to pay, and if it goes beyond that I'll walk away.

Did you also notice that it's always the low-feedback scumbags that flood into bidding. Either they just created their account to do this type of bidding or they are totally inept when it comes to buying anything.

But if the seller wants an astronomical price for his item, he can certainly count on Ebay to deliver.

I intend to get a industrial or SSK for my next keyboard purchase after my F AT arrives. i think you can get those industrial grey shells at Unicomp.
Other than the grey case is there reallly any difference than a normal M?

I've seen two SSK's on ebay. One of them was from *cough, cough* trievalot. Sold for $188. I know a place where I can get them a lot cheaper.
