Hi everyone, just saying hello from Canada! I've actually had an account here for a while, and already have several keyboards under my name, but never posted. I've just been a silent enthusiast lurking in the background. I recently bought a Leopold FC660C (second hand by a local seller, but may be from a possible geekhack user - and if so, hello and thank you!) and am intrigued by the Topre switch. It's not what I expected, but I definitely enjoy typing on them... a lot. Since I got it yesterday, I haven't had any trouble adjusting to the size - I love the layout and the small footprint on my desk. I just added some basic media controls with AutoHotKey and now everything is perfect.
At work, I use a Filco Majestouch 2 AI edition (Browns) and at home, the FC660C and before that, a CM Quickfire XT with PBT keycaps (also browns). My first mech was a Corsair K90 (reds) but ended up giving that to my dad as it was just not my style. I get a lot of compliments at work with my Filco and love to spread the word on behalf of keyboard fanatics... but most people just think it's a strange interest. I get a lot of comments about how I don't "fit the profile" of being into a stereotypically geeky hobby. But for me, I really think it's worth it to spend it on some good quality keyboards if I spend most of my day typing.
One question I have about the FC660C - if I swap the Ctrl key with the CapsLock key, would there be an LED light for the Ctrl key? If not, why is it necessary for the 1.50 Ctrl key have an LED window? Just a question out of genuine curiosity.
Thanks for all of the helpful knowledge on the site. I hope to be able to be a regular contributor around here.
