I'll be speaking more to GMK this week. I'll let you guys further know the issue when we discuss about it!
Thanks for the heads-up Sherryton.

I already passed this info along with photos to OCo (who replied very quickly and said that they will notify GMK and see how they respond), but am posting this just as a general heads-up since I have seen at least one other person with this same issue, specifically with the Esc key. The key has a burn on the stem which was apparently - in my case - enough to weaken the plastic to the point that it cracked the first time I pulled the cap.

Thanks for sharing this. I hadn't opened my set yet since I haven't been ready to build the board they are going on. I've never had a reason to question GMK before so now I'm going to have to run through the other newer sets that are sitting. My supports on R1 and R2 are pretty bad. My red Esc is like yours and has never been installed:

I bought my set after the GB ended for full price. And my esc key is blackened too.

Add me to the list of those with burned ESC keys.  This is more worrisome to me than the missing cross-bar parts.  Wonder what happened over at GMK.

Mine is too.  But I've put it on and taken it off a couple of boards now, and no stressing noted unlike some others.

Well I'll be damned. My Esc key is burnt too. I've taken it on and off a number of times with no issue but it's still concerning.

My red escape key from this set is also burned.  I'm interested in hearing what GMK is going to do to correct this.

Same here- slightly overlooked esc. Confident Sherry will scold GMK and get us some properly medium rare keys sent over.

A set I'm playing around with has the same issue as noted above. Mine is on the ~ and 4 key and possibly others.

Here is my Honeywell build. It's a Tric 60 Sandwich case with fully swappable switches and LEDs. I soldered SIP sockets directly to the board for the LEDs and used Outemu Purples with the hot swap sockets from Novel Keys. The Outemu's are surprisingly decent, but I used them in this build only for the hot sockets. I'm going to remove them and use them in a build my 9 year old daughter.I'll probably just end up using Gateron SMD Blacks.

Did Originative get back to anyone about the burnt escape keys?  In email they told me to expect a response in a couple of weeks, but that was over a month ago.

Are the sets Candykeys are getting going to have the issues too, or are they newly manufactured?

So clean and elegant.  Love it.

But the placement of those mods tho...

I agree.  I just wanted to get something in the case fast so I could see how the color combination came out (used an old infinity build and threw the Honeywell caps on).  When I have more time I plan on building a new board for the case using Zealiostotles and a proper bottom row.

It's actually instock at oco, however it's really really expesnive (not worth imo)

You could probably find it cheaper on the aftermarket though

cherry blacks - unlubed - filmed and springswapped with tx 55g mediums - alu Plate | pretty happy with this, the blacks were cherry picked so they weren't that scratchy to begin with, but currently breaking them in, may lube them with a dry lube like ro59 or ptfe powder.

lubed with tribosys 3203 | like topre a lot, prefer it lubed but did make less tactile but that might have been a skill issue. probably will get more tactile over time as the domes age.

bad orange alps lol | definitely needs a restoration. planning on wax boiling them and maybe a replacement pcb because the board has only 2 key rollover apparently.

gateron yellows - lubed with 205g0 - 62g tx mediums - pc plate | probably my favourite keyboard already, feels super nice and sounds pretty good, it's got a great layout as well. probably gonna build this with mx browns, I feel like it would suit the board more.

stock with silent reds | Pretty cool looking board, the silent reds are actually good, they are smooth and I don't mind the mushiness (it's not even that mushy as well). the layout is pretty weird, but is useable. will probably mod this in the future. maybe a pcb and plate swap, change the keycaps to something dolch like, and also spring swap the springs in the silent reds.

stock, needs a cleaning and probably replacement foam. Do plan to change layout so it has split bs and rs, as well as ansi enter.

Built with new nixies on pc half plate. Love this board already, probably the best looking board I own, those brass accents are so mint. Really like it as is, but I do want to try an alu build (probably with nixies as well) just to experiment with that.
