The one thing me and my wife really miss during this pandemic is going to the gym together every morning. This set is inspired from our times in the Gym.

too many safe colors in keycap sets nowadays, getting tiring. every time it'sjust dark gray with an accent color or any other neutral color with an accent. this was definitely not what i would consider "colorful" gym clothes... theyhave a lot of zany colors!
This is alright, though I do think it's approaching on "too similar" to JTK Night Sakura. I understand that nobody owns colors, but this looks pretty darn similar.
I have to +1 the comment on the novelties not really being appealing for me, I admit I'm not a fitness person but I feel like this is just a sort of strange clash of interests or something, not sure.
I would also like to note:QuoteMod Legends : GMK Stock Cold White

This... doesn't really mean anything? I wanted to check the colors on my books to see if they were actually too close to Night Sakura or other similarly designed sets, but I can't because you haven't listed any actual colors, not even the GMK stock color.
Please update these when you figure out your color matching, it's a very important part of the process and crucial for people to know if they will like what they see. Please please please tell us the colors you end up choosing.

Could you write that in a way that makes actual sense? Thanks.
Why even include a color section lol
Because to tell people that this set will use custom RAL colors and the basic shade of the used color without going deep into the actual color codes.
Because to tell people that this set will use custom RAL colors and the basic shade of the used color without going deep into the actual color codes.
But like, its kinda assumed to be custom color and most of us have eyes to see the basic shade of color

To assume that I would be using custom colors would also mean that you would have to assume that everyone here has access to GMK stock color ring and RAL D2 book.
Now coming to the last part of your comment "most of us have eyes to see basic shades of color" - Well we do. But most of us, are not using the same monitor /screen. As a designer, I feel its my responsibility to guide people towards the right color. I think you would agree with this sentiment.

Hi Liz!
Well the colors are figured out. I just was not comfortable sharing them in the light of recent events. I am active over Discord. Feel free to msg me in my server or directly to me and I can show you the color codes.
In light of the comparison with JTK NightSakura, here is a little snippet!Show Image(https://i.ibb.co/2YC6MW9/unknown.png)

dunno about you but I've never had or seen a screen where pink looked like a different color. I don't think there is a point to the colors section right now, it tells you pretty much nothing except contact you for colors.
To assume that I would be using custom colors would also mean that you would have to assume that everyone here has access to GMK stock color ring and RAL D2 book.I mean I can assume yall are using custom colors, if you don't list colors, it's probably mostly custom. The point of a colors section is to list colors so those who do have books can look at it to judge and those who don't to be able to google colors to get a rough idea of what the final product might look like.

Yeah, my concern here is that the lighting on your renders will affect your color choices, if your renders were lit a little more dimly it'd resemble JTK NS very closely, and I can't tell if the colors are different due to lighting or due to color choice.
What recent events would cause you to not want to share colors?
People want to know what they're going to be buying and sharing the colors is the only way to know for sure you'll be happy with your purchase. I am not saying that to be elitist or nitpicky, it is the ONLY way to effectively demonstrate the intended colors to consumers.
love this color way glwic
looks amazing, i barely see any resemblance with jtk night sakura tbh. not sure if the others have eye sight issues or not ;D
glwic :thumb:
I'm really into this set. Consider adding 2x 3u spacebars to the spacebar kit, and forcing accents on esc and enters to save a little space in the 40s kit
I expected this set to be some NEON EYE MELTINESS but it looks good!
I think the ansi novelty could use some better designs, for example: a short barbell.
Great colours. Hope to see this go into GB!
Gives me 8008 vibes. That's not a complaint, I like it. GLWIC!
Kettle bell novelty.... dumbbell novelty.....BUT NO BARBELL NOVELTY?!?
Salad novelty.... BUT NO PROTEIN SHAKE?!?!
No syringes for the guys like The Rock, and Stalone? How are they suppose to tren hard?
Bra.... I hate to do it.... but....
Do. You. Even.
(Where's that guy with the cringey shirtless pic as an avatar? He would love this...)
Oh, and kidding aside, (except for the barbell... that's real talk...) great job man, good luck with the IC.

Thanks for the comments.
I did try to put a barbell in the ansi enter but that did not work. Currently I am waiting for cool feedback like yours to add something more.
Possible adding some in a 1.25u or 1.5 u.
Protein shakes are also a nice idea tbh :) Lets see.
If you havenot filled the IC please leave some feedback. We will be implementing as much as possible!!
Again, thanks for the love! Really appreciate it!

For a protein shake novelty- i was thinking those "shaker" bottles you see everywhere at the gym. Though I guess the water bottle novelty is all ready close enough. Those shaker bottles do have a pretty distinct look.
Or, I guess you could do a novelty with one of those giant powder bins all the supplements come in, with like a scoop sticking out. Or maybe just a scoop with some powder in it..
Or maybe "snorting a scoop with some powder in it" kind of idea :pKettle bell novelty.... dumbbell novelty.....BUT NO BARBELL NOVELTY?!?

But gym is not about steroids or the use of it to get jacked. Well, i thinks that's probably more up to each specific individual to decide for themselves.. but hey, if you want an all natty set, that it is of coarse your prerogative good sir.
ne b in base avail?
Definitely liking the colors, but not understanding how it relates to the gym other than your wife liking the colors.
But great set.

I love everything about this set !
As for the comparison with JTK NightSakura I REALLY do not see it, the overall color palette is very cool toned (at least on my screen) and if I would compare this set to another one it would be GMK Fuji on the accents.
But they sure share the same vibe. Not sisters, maybe cousins haha
For reference using the picture previously posted: https://imgur.com/a/1r7Xhil (https://imgur.com/a/1r7Xhil) (sorry I don't know how to post the image directly ^^' )
I personally really like the low contrast between the alphas and modifiers, looks really feminine and modern.ps: I would have called the set Waifu since it was created with her in mind :p

Well, the novelties are also gym related, but as far as the colors are concerned: they are very typical of modern athletic clothing, especially for the chicks.
Personally, they are no specific colors or colorway that comes to mine when thinking about the gym or exercise in general, so I'm down for whatever colors he likes, (the closest would be yellow and blue becasue those are the colors of the the gym logo i go to -LA fitness, and I guess Gold's is also yellow.. but I hate yellow, it is the worst color in the history of color, just disgusting)

And i wear pink, and pretty much any silly, none-macho clothing i can to the gym ( I work out hard as a mofo, I'm not small, and have to try hard to keep a snarl off my face, so i try to look as harmless and jovial as possible..)
From what I've seen, there are no typical gym colors for men. Are there any you can think of for the dudes?

don't worry us women are not gatekeeping the color pink. you can wear it too :p
That's cool, personally, I love pink, but you are still not allowed to have Lavender.. It being a traditionally male fragrance and all... :p (It's weird to think how often common gender tropes randomly flip- Blue used to be "for" girls and pink for boys, rose and lavender used to be traditional male fragrances, etc. Obviously if the current trend continues, that won't happen anymore, becasue there will not be any gender tropes. Well I don't forbid anyone to have anything. I just describe the reality that pink is not often seen to associate with sport in general and I'm not the only one. We can all agree that the colorway itself is undeniably good and the novelties are great, the problem is that many find it hard to connect these colors with gym stuff. If you join S&M discord, you'll see that Fitness has the lowest interest in the 3 current ICs (Pharaoh, Fitness, Zen Pond) although Zen Pond is the latest IC. About Lavender, the main color is purple and the set did a good job representing the flower, it's about the theme and the chosen color.

I do respect the designer's decision because it's his vision. Which is fine.)but not popular for man gym wearDefinitely liking the colors, but not understanding how it relates to the gym other than your wife liking the colors.
But great set.
Yeah this is correct. Pink and grey are one of the most popular women gym wear colors. First hand experiance :p
don't worry us women are not gatekeeping the color pink. you can wear it too :p
About Lavender, the main color is purple and the set did a good job representing the flower, it's about the theme and the chosen color.

This IC will be updated soon!
It features dual accents to appeal to both geneders
this is all a whole new kind of messed up and i don't want to touch it but i still want to express my distaste for assigning colours to genders
I think black accent is for everyone :p.
yeah, I notice one now :p.I think black accent is for everyone :p.
Everything is for everyone.
But you will notice some people lurking around the corner just to diss on you just because they can :p . Internet is awesome!

What a reductive outlook, in the year of our plastic keycap gods 2021, you define something as 'for both genders'? Even putting aside that ascribing colors to genders is so outdated and dumb, you're not even correct in assuming a binary. There's way more than two genders. Frankly, disappointing to see this nonsense in an attempt to defend using pink, when that's not something that needs defending. Sigh.
I am confused as to why this line "It features dual accents to appeal to both geneders" is still in the intro after multiple people have called it out.
Why would anyone think it is ok to resort to assuming there are only two genders in this day and age. Doubling down by joking about the set being "Community Correct" just makes you look like more of an ass hat.
Even as a straight, white, male, assigning colors to genders is offensive. Color and gender should not be correlated. It would be great, and show you actually care about selling sets, if you could update the wording, and remove gender from the equation. Thanks.
Thank you for the kind reply and for making that update!

What I was trying to say is that the colors had been updated based on community feedback about the connection between colorway and the novelties.

I am sorry I misunderstood the sentiment. I did not joke. English is not my first language and somewhat got lost in translation. I did not want to offend anyone and I sincerely apologize for the wordings. I have corrected and changed it.

I really appreciate your response and willingness to change it. Thank you for that, it's a breath of fresh air <3
Design finalized?
Mono base please :-*
2 ANSI accents but no ISO accents in base. :(Don't worry, I'll convince him to add the black accent for iso. The kitting is not finalized.

I don't know why everyone and their mom feels obligated to add weird forced novelties that nobody actually likes.Because there are people who actually like them.
Well now I can't think of a reason to not buy this set. Looks like I'm going to go broke again this year.4 Key 40s support has been added to the base.

Adding Sublegends to the Alphas would be pre-cool. Please, i beg you <3
I just wanted to note on the 4-key 40s:
3 key was invented to provide the highest possible coverage for 40s boards with the fewest keys. Many designers have turned 3 key into 4 key with R2 esc to offer accent keys to 40s users. If a 40s user wants a mod colored esc, they can simply use R2 End rather than Esc.
By forcing mod keys without accents in your 4 key 40s, not only do 40s users not get access to accents (which seems like an essential part of the colorway here) but you also have added a key that only serves the purpose of providing legend accuracy.
Night sakura or GMK Booba or whatever they all look the same now

And you are absolutely correct.
This was the exact update I was talking about! We changed the base kit and updated it with accents for 40s.
I hope that now the base kit is much much more accurate and attractable to the 40s community!
Cheers!Show Image(https://i.imgur.com/aJDHwYZ.jpg)

I’ve been watching this keycap set for a few months and keep being upset about having such mixed feelings about it. As an avid keyboard hobbyist AND clearly a major fitness enthusiast & also a fitness professional, I so badly want to love this set because of the fitness theme as fitness is such a huge part of my life, but here are my honest thoughts…..and I’m sorry for not writing this sooner and hope I don’t upset or offend you in any way, as that’s not remotely my intention here at all.
On one hand I generally like the base colors, but on the other hand the pink accents throws me off a bit with the very feminine feel it adds as the accent color and for the numbers/letters. It doesn’t make it a deal breaker per say, but for me personally it just doesn’t all quite work well together, and doesn’t really feel like it’s at all connected to a gym or fitness theme (this is just my personal opinion, so take it with a grain of salt).
Secondly (again personal opinion here), but the novelties are also incredibly feminine feeling to me, and not something I personally feel remotely compelled to buy, as they remind me of those old follow-along VHS fitness videos from the 80’s & 90’s that our Moms would watch on TV. That’s especially disappointing for me as I’ve been waiting and hoping for a fitness themed keycap set to come out since I got into the hobby last year, as it combines my passion for and professional career in fitness with my love for the keyboard hobby. The color combo aside, the selling point that defines a niche theme set like this as a fitness theme comes down to the novelties as well as the artisans IMO, but unfortunately they just don’t work for me personally as it seems they’re geared towards a very different audience than your traditional fitness enthusiast like myself. The artisan seems to be a major miss as well, as there were many fun fitness related things that could have been done there (I’m thinking something in the shape of a dumbbell, a 45 lb plate that loads onto a barbell, or something else that’s creative yet still is instantly recognizable as something fitness related). I don’t personally see any connection to a fitness theme with the artisan, unless I’m missing something? Is the grid pattern supposed to be mimicking the grip pattern on a barbell? If it is, it’s not remotely obvious at first and just looks like a geometric pattern of sorts.
With all that said, I truly wish you all the best on this keycap set! Even though it upsets me to say that it’s not for me personally, I would love nothing more than to see this be a success for you! I’m sure there are many out there who this set really speaks to and who will love it. Good luck with the GB, and I’ll definitely share it with anyone I know who I feel would probably really like it. :thumb:

Thanks for the kind words and sharing your point of view.
There is no point addressing anything you have mentioned right now but I will try to put some stuff into perspective.
The pink accent was chosen because it fit the theme well and not for really adding any feminine tough to the set. Personally I like pink and wear them as well. Its more of a preference.
Regarding the novelties, we did 2-3 iterations based on the interest check form to come to this final conclusion. Almost all major novelties were redone based on the suggestions from the form.
But do understand, this theme is quite niche and very hard to pull off atleast from the artwork point of view. There are so many relatable things and only a few slots to put them on. So there is always a chance that there will be things that dont make it.
The Hibi artisan represents the knurls/ grips on the bars and dumbbells.
Again thanks for the words, I hope I could provide some perspective.

Thank you for your kind reply, and I’m also glad you understood the positive way my comments were meant and didn’t get upset by anything I said (as that was not at all my intention). I can understand & appreciate that the fitness niche is not an easy one to pull off on keycaps as a theme, so I give you a lot of credit for taking on this project & following your own intuition in the design process.
As for pink, I agree that it can complement the blue well as a contrasting color, and I also have some pink shirts that I wear sometimes because it looks good & isn’t necessarily just a feminine color. I personally feel it looks a bit feminine in the case of this particular keycap set, especially when combined with many of the novelty key designs, but at the same time I also think the pink can look very good with dark blue (the color combo actually reminds me of a set I really like called Devoted, though that uses a lilac instead of pink).
Like I mentioned, this is all purely my own personal opinion, which doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things, and I hope you or someone else makes another fitness themed set in the future with a different feel to it, as I’ve really been waiting for a fitness themed set like this to buy & use on one of my keyboards. And I get why you went with the knurled grip on barbells as it makes perfect sense. I’m sure it’s even more obvious when seeing and feeling it in person, as photos don’t always do artisans justice.
Again, I really respect the amount of time and effort that clearly went into making this design, and I hope you didn’t take anything I said negatively, as I really am rooting for you and for this to be a successful set. Wishing you all the best, and I’m looking forward to seeing what other sets you design in the future! 💪
