Making your own Silicon "pad" works really well. You can just pour it in till it reaches the desired thickness. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07XHNDNJD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Are there plans to also provide padding foam between the plate and the PCB?

Not at this time as personally I don't think its necessary. I love the sound of the board in its current state. Obviously everyone's preferences will be different though.
Do you know how 'thick' is the spacing between pcb and the case? In case I wanna buy foam myself, how thick would you suggest?

When you say the PCB and the case, do you mean under the pcb and above the floor of the case? (I only ask because the other question was about foam between the pcb and the plate.)
If you're truly asking about between the pcb and the bottom of the case, you don't need foam there as the kit already comes with a custom cut one :)

If you're asking about between the pcb and the plate, I would suggest 4mm foam because it'll compress slightly when you sandwich it between the pcb and the plate.

I know building a website is easier then ever now-a-days, but that is an awesome website. Very well done and put together.
And that blue and red combo keeb would look SO good with some Laser on it..

Any updates on the plate files?

Was looking at getting a carbon fibre plate cut but the GB for it is only running for the next 2 weeks so wanted to know if I had time.

Hey mate!
We can throw out rough estimations but they will be just that, rough, until we have confirmation of shipping to us.
We're very hopeful that shipping to us will begin at the end of next week or at the latest the following week.
Then we would just need time to QC and then we can start shipping out to you folks as long as everything looks good.
This is very fluid though and we will try to communicate everything as soon as we know.
Thanks very much and we'll shoot you an update soon once we have some details.
Have a great day!

Not positive at the moment. There will definitely be an opportunity to purchase different color inserts for the buyers of round 1.

We have other projects in the works that we also want to push out so we'll see how it slots in.

We'll do our best to accommodate everyone though.

Plus there should be a few extras once the GB has completed. :)

We’ll see what happens with a round 2 and if the interest is there.

We’ve got a lot of designs in the queue but I can confirm that 1800 is on the radar. :)

Yea as I'm sure you're aware, shipping prices have skyrocketed along with everything else due to covid. Even before covid, international shipping was always expensive from the US to anywhere else besides Canada/Mexico.
Also, the shipping prices we are sending in the invoices already include us paying a portion of the shipping cost.
We didn't feel like the buyers should have to pay extra due to the pandemic so we are eating some of shipping amount.
Plus the Monarch is a very heavy board, especially the LE. Weight works against us when shipping unfortunately.

Yep I understand. Was thinking given the circumstances (COVID, from US and LE weight) it would have been around 150 USD or so. Glad that it's much cheaper than I thought, but still haha. I appreciate the gesture.

Hey! I've received my Monarch and I'm quite happy with it overall but I seem to have a slight issue with the encoder that persists even with the extra one I replaced the included one with. Best way to explain it is that the right turn would also occasionally actuate the left turn action. It seems to be prominent on the end of the turn as if stopping in between detents and having that slight turn back causes this. For example, I'd use Via to make left turn be 'A' and right turn be 'B' ; a long right turn would sometimes result in something like 'bbbbbbbbbbbbbba' and rapid, successive ones would result in 'bbbbaabbbbbaabbbbbba' or something similar. Like I've said, I've replaced the original with an extra and the issue still persists. Do you think it may be an issue with the encoder itself (both Alps), the pcb/firmware, or possibly something may have happened when I soldered the encoder? Any guidance would be very appreciated. Thanks and keep up the good work!

There's for sure something wrong with the programming of the rotary encoder, it jumps back and forth quite a lot. Even more noticeable if you bind it to page up/down.

From what you are describing it sounds like the encoder is actually occasionally actuating in-between detents. If this is the case we should be able to make some adjustments to the firmware in order to correct this behavior.
We will speak to our PCB designer to investigate this further. Thank you for the information.
We will report back as soon as we have something concrete.
Thank you again!

We've isolated the problem and have a solution in place to resolve it.
We're just completing some more local testing before we deem it ready for distribution.
The encoder will act much more responsive with these latest changes.
Thanks for bringing it to our attention!
We'll be in contact soon with our official update.

We've done some more local testing and also reached out to a few buyers to confirm our fix and the results are very positive.
In order to get the encoder functioning more exactly, you will need to go to our site and download the latest firmware to flash onto your pcb.
The file is located on our Files page at https://kingkbs.com/pages/files , it is labeled "BIN file for flashing".
Once you download it, you'll need to use QMK Toolbox to flash it to your pcb and then you should be all set.
If anyone is unclear on the process, please reach out to us and we can help walk you through it.
We'll also be putting up language on our website with step by step directions on how to proceed.
Thanks very much!

Is this update just for the VIA firmware?  Do I need to make any tweaks if I use QMK?  Just want to make sure before I build mine.  I only use QMK and not VIA.  That's why I'm asking.
