New subforum: Keyboard of the Month
« on: Wed, 20 May 2015, 10:40:15 »
Hello!  I'd like to announce the debut of a new subforum today, Keyboard of the Month (nested under Keyboards).  You've likely seen the posts for the Keyboard of the Month competition katushkin set up a few months ago, and with how much that has grown it made sense to give it an official subforum.  This will allow the posts to be contained, organized, and easier viewed.  Additionally, katushkin will be moderating the subforum, since this is his project.  However, all global/senior mods do still have mod rights in this subforum, so feel free to contact us as well.

The subforum can be found here:
https://geekhack.org/index.php?board=178.0

A couple quick notes:
  • Posts do count in this subforum
  • The subforum is read only, meaning only moderators (including katushkin) can create threads, but anyone can respond to threads

If there are any questions, please feel free to post here.  :thumb:

And that's it!  Have fun out there, kids.   :-*

Yay! :D

Unfortunately something like this is much needed after the controversy that happened recently.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

I've only just seen this!

Thanks for the support from everyone, and thanks Hoff for the clarification about  the extra rules! Didn't know it was read only :)
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?
