So the current winkeyless option for 1.2 is just like the kmac 2. I thought it would be like the kmac 1. I like the idea behind it and it still looks great! =)

The Kmac 2 doesn't doesn't have legs, it is raised like the kmac mini, and it is hard annodized.

Yup. I was just talking about the block idea for winkeyless option. Thanks though. Good to know =)

Do all kmac 1.2 winkeyless come with blocks? or is yours just special? =D

They all do.  It was the intent of the design to do it this way so users would have the option to be either 84 Winkeyless or 86 Winkey from purchasing a single KMAC.  With the original KMAC 1, to do that, you would need to buy 2 KMAC's to achieve an 86 Winkey because they did not sell PCBs separately.  litster recently did this because he owns both an 84-Winkeyless and 86-Winkey KMAC 1.

At first I thought it might look tacky and was worried the color wouldn't be accurate, but it turned out well and I'm not bothered by the block.

I was weary at first about the blockers, especially since the prototype designs mentioned that they would be gold.  They just looked so tacky.  I'm glad they decided to match the color with the case.  I was also worried that they wouldn't sit flush with the rest of the case but it's a nice fit.

Considering Windows 8 uses a ton of Winkey hotkeys, I might start using it again.  Actually, who am I kidding, Winkeyless is too fresh.

@Dan

Next time, if you desloder and don't get clean diode legs, to the point where they won't pull through the switch holes for removal, simply use a tiny set of cutters and clip the big part off of the diode leg. I know exactly What you are saying. It happened to me Also.

John

Exactly what I did.

I wish you could do Control+Escape+(insert key here) for winkey hotkeys...

looks nice, the acrylic shell... it has the metallic finish that gives it a metallic shell-like feel....

btw, with such half shell design, wouldn't it be more prone to damage? the switches are exposed....

I mean, accidents, they can happen, not saying to damage them on purpose, example like accidentally dropped something on them etc...
