To replace my aging Model M, I ordered a 104-key HELLO GANSS keyboard with Cherry MX Blue switches, and boy was I disappointed!
It was like typing on mushy oatmeal! The keys barely made any tactile click! There was a ridiculous amount of key travel before the switch actually activated!
I thought the Cherry MX blue switches would be comparable to the buckling-spring switches in the Model M, as I only read good things about the Cherry MXes, but the MXes really don't stand up at all to the buckling-springs i'm used to.
Perhaps most infuriatingly, I ordered a Cherry MX keyswitch tester so I could try out the different keyswitch types before I bought a keyboard, and decided that the MX blues would be acceptable, but I guess actually typing is a completely different animal to pressing just one key.
I returned the GANSS keyboard and ordered a Unicomp instead. I'm hoping the keys will be even stiffer than the ones on my current Model M.
