^ Lets do this.

Throwing it out there as well, if we're redesigning the caps lock, could we not do it in the handbag style? I'm not fussed either way but it could be quite nice.

Are you suggesting just handbag or handbag + "Caps Lock"?

Looks good, but doesn't seem to belong to Moogle Kit.  Kind of like Fusion Asian food, sometimes it is good, but it is neither Chinese, nor Vietnamese, or Japanese, or Korean, or food from other Asian countries.  :-)

I put in my 2 cents. This is a discussion thread. This is why I paid $100.06 in the phantom switch group buy, I can get exactly what I want. Since I can't get what I want from this GB I will not be joining it.

I agree, I would prefer to stick with normal "Caps Lock"

Very true.  I am not in all group buys here either.  I think most of us are not in every group buy either.  Hey, we found some thing we have in common?  Ha!

Yup, same with the shifts that just have arrows.

Sorry Europeans, but we're sticking with "Caps Lock", ANSI style. :)

You mean you didn't ask for just the stems with no spring and only the bottom switch housing? Since they make all of it you should be able to get what you want!

A moogle kit replaces keys from vintage key sets that are incompatible with modern keyboards.  Someone posted a link in here somewhere to a good explanation.  Like ripster said, the name comes from a member here whose username is MoogleStiltskin.  He came up with the idea.

If GB 4 actually happens I should have one plus one of the caps lock ones. I really want a retro one to complete my retro kit but not sure I want to pay $20 for that one key in that style.

The kit name came from the member "user name." Apparently he liked moogle a lot he even got a website designed after moogle

while moogle is really this:

if you play final fantasy series, you would know them.

Here is the pricing breakdown that Melissa came back with.  I forgot to ask her about Backspace and Tab for the (potential) full mod add-on.  Will do that tomorrow.

Bear in mind that these are just the raw production costs.  The final pricing will have other fixed costs factored in (legend fees, shipping from SP, shipping supplies, etc.)

Whats the legend fee looking like for Enter and Backslash? I'm going to assume its the same as all the other legends for these GB

Can we get a list of the keys that require legend fees?
  • flat caps lock
  • stepped caps lock
  • 1.75x Control
  • 1.25x Caps
  • 1.5x Caps
  • Enter
  • Backslash

Are those it?

Pricing doesn't look too bad, are we not including ISO in main base kit? but as a add-on instead?

I'm going to spend a small fortune on this GB .__.

The fees for my RGBY buy were all $35.  I would assume similar for this.  I believe that is all the new legends since we will be using SP's standard Win and Menu.

Ouch on the Anti-Capslock and ISO-> ANSI kit

Anti-Caps might get enough love for it to happen, ISO conversion kit I'm not so sure, but I do kinda want it just for the enter key, 2 keys left before all the modifiers are SP made

I was never all that interested in the anti-capslock anyway since it's more for people who do a swap instead of a straight up replacement.

Yeah, the colors might make this difficult.  Hopefully at least the black kits will be cheap.

Yes, he did.  They were too thick however, so they won't match the new legends from my RGBY buy.  So rather than redo them and pay more legend fees we're just using SP's which are thin enough to match well.

White and Dolch may have pretty decent numbers but in the end we are looking at three competing buys in one; people don't like to spend money where they don't find it 100% necessary. I will do my best to convince people otherwise, of course.

Okay that makes it clear. Will the other legends be made thinner aswell (Caps Lock for example) or are they already thin enough to match your RGBY?
Guess I have to wait for my RGBY delivery to compare them :D

I'd be in for at least 1 of each colour; I don't have any Black doubleshots yet but thats not to say I won't get some in the future!

White and Dolch may have pretty decent numbers but in the end we are looking at three competing buys in one; people don't like to spend money where they don't find it 100% necessary. I will do my best to convince people otherwise, of course.

Black will have the hardest time as usual

I don't see beige and Dolch having a problem at all

Think I'd be in for one of each, white black and dolch just to cover me off down the line..
Thinking about things isn't the same as doing things. Otherwise everybody would be in jail.
