Thats an expensive kit for due to legends never done before for backslash and enter, but of course we can do it

Also I don't know if it's just me but a regular ANSI Cherry DS isn't exactly rare so I don't know why you would buy an ISO set

They aren't exactly easy to find either. I know I have been trying to buy them lately. If you go to ebay its like 75% iso. But I understand with legend fees and svg's that can jack things up. Would be nice though.

I mean if there's interest for it as a add-on kit its fine, in the end its only 2 keys

Well thats what I'm thinking. Seems like we need some tallies going. Poll with multiple voting options?

Anyways I'm in for at least one either way. Probably two.

No need for that. Best way to do it is make sure those kits are what we want. Get pricing, and take orders

If orders are low we cut, done deal :)

Poll is normally a waste of time

Is there any chance of getting a some blank windows keys thrown in? I guess they cannot cost that much.

3 blank 1.25x?

That can A. go into base kit or B. go into the single keys add-on section

I'm in for:

2x black
2x beige (for white Cherry DS keys with shaded modifiers, right?)
Maybe 1 or 2 dolch depending on final price of kits

I really like the idea of the stepped capslock with centered stem.

Oh...  What is the expected schedule for this?  Start, finish, etc?

I don't want this to drag on for too long as, more people will want different things, we want this to be short and sweet.

Find out what we want, finalize, get pricing, get orders :)

Those kits look good, maybe include the center-stem stepped capslock (that needs a shorter name btw!) in the standard kit, I'm not a fan of the full touch capslocks.

I wanted that too, the different texture on the modifiers are driving me nuts, but the cost is driving everyone away

It's 3 keys we haven't done before, so 3 legend fees. Can't have that in the base kit since people will whine that they don't need it, as a add-on kit I don't know how many people will go for it due to cost.

Those are round 1 keys ._.

Quote
Once again this is what I've gathered so far

We're going to have 3 standard sets:

BASE KIT Cherry Beige/Black/Dolch

2 Control 1.25x
2 Alt 1.25x
2 Win 1.25x
1 Menu 1.25x
1 Right shift 2.75x
1 Capslock 1.75x
1 Spacebar 6.25x
1 ANSI left shift 2.25x
1 ISO left shift 1.25x

For simplicity sake I suggest both shift is included in the base kit or we can have what we did in the RGBY kit where you choose what shift you want.

ANTI CAPS LOCK ADD-ON KIT Cherry Beige/Black/Dolch
1 Control 1.75x
1 Capslock 1.25x
1 Capslock 1.5x

ISO -> ANSI CONVERSION KIT Cherry Beige
BOTH REQUIRES LEGEND FEES
1 Enter 2.25x
1 Backslash 1.5x

SINGLE KEY ADD-ON Cherry Beige/Black/Dolch
1 Space bar 6.25x
1 Blank Key 1.25x (This could be in base kit as it doesn't add much to cost but don't know how many people want this)
1 Centre stem stepped capslock 1.75x (I really think this should be include this in base kit)

Do they make a center stemmed stepped caps? If so I agree it should be in there. But if we start talking about say over $25 per moogle. And more like $30 and beyond. Thats getting a little pricey. Hopefully the prices can be similar to round 2.

Looks like it's going to increase due to

Left shift(s) being included

if we add the centred stemmed stepped caps that will add to price too

I would love to get a centre-stemmed stepped caps in both white (beige) and black. Slightly off-topic but still related. Can someone plse explain 'anti-capslock'? Are we just talking about the key with a different legend on the top? Or are we talking about different sized keys?

left control key and capslock will swap places

so you need a 1.25x/1.5x capslock key for the bottom row and a 1.75x control key to replace the capslock

Regarding the anti caps lock kit, do most people actually switch the 1.25 Control key to a Caps Lock key? Personally I just have them both as Control keys and do without Caps Lock altogether. The Round 3 set I have doesn't seem to have a 1.25 Caps Lock for this swap. Would it be feasible to just include a non-stepped 1.75 Control key in the base set instead of doing the whole anti caps lock add-on set?

While a lot of people swap Capslock into Control, there are even more people that don't do that

With that being said, I don't think it will make the cut to base kit

Thats the thing. I don't think u'll be able to fully press down the key (albeit probably deep enough that the key press is still registered) if you center the stem on that step capslock. correct me if i am wrong.

Nah, it works but you have to be very precise in stem length.

Ya I always kinda wanted to ask about the result in terms of key press, because i am under the impression that the lower part of the keycap will hit the switch casing and would not bottom out as far down as it would have been. May not be a functional issue overall, but i am quite curious about it.

I don't think SP has a mold for this shape

And I don't think they can put a shaft this close to the "step". And they would probably screw up if they tried. Making it impossible to depress all the way or skewed to a side and thus miss the switch shaft.

Standard should be thus:
1 x spacebar (4-shaft like last time)
2 x control 1.25
2 x alt 1.25
2 x windows 1.25
1 x menu 1.25
1 x center-stemmed un-stepped capslock
1 x left-stemmed un-stepped capslock
ANSI and ISO shifts

The anti-capslock is NOT what a "moogle" was meant to do. It is thus scope creep and should either be optional or another separate GB.
"Enter", "\|", "Tab", and "Backspace" would be expensive and somewhat of scope creep. They should should be optional to this GB as they fall somewhat under "moogle".
center-stemmed stepped capslock (if possible even, though I highly doubt it as I point out above) should be optional to this GB. It still falls under "moogle".
1.5 modifiers and blank (non-windows) modifiers should be optional to this GB as well.

Now go ahead and rip me a new one. Or agree with me, that is preferred and welcomed.

No but you are one of the FEW people to ONLY use Cherry brand mechanical boards that WANT a flat caps.

Actually you are the only one that comes to mind with the statement above. You did say a 1-2 other people wanted a off-centre flat caps though, not sure of their reasoning though

Can someone check my thoughts on my moogle needs?

I would like a full 104-key white Cherry set.  I'm trying to build one from a Cherry MY 1900 (G81-1900HPU) like this:

[ Attachment Invalid Or Does Not Exist ] 41886[/ATTACH]

Here's what I think I'll still need AFTER the current moogle base and what I think will work:

10-key pad:
   need:
   "0" 2.0 horiz.
"+" 2.0 vert.

Wrong row, won't work in correct row:
   "-"

Center key clusters:
   Think these will be OK:
   "Insert"
"Home"
"PgUp"
"Prt Sc"
"Pause"

Missing:
   "Scroll Lock"
"Delete"
"End"
"Pg Dn"

If someone can verify my thoughts, that leaves me missing the keys listed in the wrong rows or that are just not included with what I currently have to work with.  What is the possibility of adding an add-on kit that looks like this:

   1 - 10-key vertical "+" 2.0
1 - 10-key horizontal "0" 2.0
1 - 10-key "-"
1 - cluster "Scroll Lock"
1 - cluster "Delete"
1 - cluster "End"
1 - cluster "Pg Dn"

Did I miss something?  Did I make a mistake?  Am I the only one interested in this?  I think there is something like this in the WYSE GB.

pjpettis, you're better off finding another Cherry set it would cost you wayyyy more to make this via SP because they all required custom legends, also you might be the only one

That is no longer a moogle kit, its more like you need half a Cherry set ._.

That is no longer a moogle kit, its more like you need half a Cherry set ._.

Understood.  I'll start scouring for a different base to build off of.  Still want the moogle though...  :)

im for the center stem stepped. What would the purpose of off center even be? seeing as how the actual cherry corp caps lock stem is already off center.....i guess matching style is valid.

probably in for 3 sets no matter what though

As long as its not as expensive as gb4 lol.

according to the price sheet black on white is double the price of white on black....

What about everything else I wrote tsangan? What do you think about the optionals?

He wants it because he only uses Cherry brand boards and he doesn't like the stepped caps.

I think everything you stated was already done in my add-on kits, unless I missed something.

Now to answer if we can have a off centre flat caps as a single key, probably not and this is because the fee will be extremely high due to low interest.

Once again this is what I've gathered so far

We're going to have 3 standard sets:

BASE KIT Cherry Beige/Black/Dolch

2 Control 1.25x
2 Alt 1.25x
2 Win 1.25x
1 Menu 1.25x
1 Right shift 2.75x
1 Capslock 1.75x
1 Spacebar 6.25x
1 ANSI left shift 2.25x
1 ISO left shift 1.25x

For simplicity sake I suggest both shift is included in the base kit or we can have what we did in the RGBY kit where you choose what shift you want.

ANTI CAPS LOCK ADD-ON KIT Cherry Beige/Black/Dolch
1 Control 1.75x
1 Capslock 1.25x
1 Capslock 1.5x

ISO -> ANSI CONVERSION KIT Cherry Beige (Doesn't look good for this due to cost and interest)
BOTH REQUIRES LEGEND FEES
1 Enter 2.25x
1 Backslash 1.5x

SINGLE KEY ADD-ON Cherry Beige/Black/Dolch
1 Space bar 6.25x
1 Blank Key 1.25x (This could be in base kit as it doesn't add much to cost but don't know how many people want this)
1 Centre stem stepped capslock 1.75x (I really think this should be include this in base kit)

You forgot the 1.5 modifier kit, the 1.5 blank single add-on keys, the "Tab" and "Backspace" add-on kit, and there is no mention of the left-stemmed un-stepped capslock.
