So If I want to try Ergo Clear Switch, can I just buy a keyboard with Clear Switch and switch the springs with one of these? If so, which version is the best for ergo clear mod?

Anything between 55 - 67g if you're going "ergo"

yeh 55g-67g but beware that below 62g sometimes the spring isnt strong enough and the slider doesnt return upward after the keystroke too well. Hence, it is a good idea to lube the sliders! In fact, pretty essential for ergo clear mod. I got some krytox lube from Sprit. Previously used mountain bike suspension grease and thought krytox was probably all hype.....but after trying it...get krytox ;)

62g is the most "common" weight I hear thrown around, but it's all up to personal preference. I believe the origin of the mod was using springs from a MX blue/brown/red, which are around the same 62g weight.

More like 60g (brown/blue/red) is just a tad bit too light and causes it to stick. Thus the extra 2g helped it a significant amount without adding too much additional force required.

Hi,
Thank you very much for this GB  :thumb:

After received the springs from this GB, I tried to do a quick compare with other Cherry MX light spring (60g), here are the results :

*Note: My measurement method is not precise, I don't have professional equipment so I rather use sticks and stones instead.  ;D

From the left to right :
Cherry MX 60g , Sprit 62g, Sprit 65g

I used Singapore Dollar coins to weight

The lightest one is Cherry MX light spring 60g
(7 coins of $1 + 3 coins of 5 cent)

Sprit 62g is a bit heavier than Cherry MX light (~3g)
(8 coins of $1)

Sprit 65g is a bit heavier than Sprit 62g (~2.5g)
(8 coins of $1 + 3 coins of 5 cent)

In conclusion, Sprit 62g and 65g are obvious heavier than Cherry MX light spring from 2.5-6g, so it should be very useful for modding ergo Clear or Vintage black.
 ;)

I guess the 3rd orders will Not happen this time.  Low stocks now.    But I may arrange some limited personal proxy.   ;)
No plan for producing extra gold-plated springs for a while,  too many steps and efforts to produce.

finally had time to sticker and swap in 62g springs into my vintage blacks, and resolder them onto my filco board. Feels like a dream! However, I am getting quite a bit of ping :( but is only when I release the upstroke really quickly or bottom out hard.  Is it just natural for korean springs to have a bit more ping? I am using rubber lining inside of my alu case, but am noticing a bit more ping than before with my stock red switches.

Hello  Dear !   PolaBurrr   ;)
Would you tell me the details of Your plate, Alu case, Oil, lub, keycaps, etc, Please?

When you release the cherry stock switches, usually light weight springs have more pinging noise than heavier ones,  IMO.     http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=46449.msg981041#msg981041
I have tried to test and compare them with various cherry original stock springs I got, my version has similar or slightly less(or more) ping noise compare to them, IMHO.
Compared with :
-  MX Blues     :  Vintage 3000 Blue, Dolch MX blue, New MX blue,
-  MX Browns  :  Compaq 11800, 11900, Cherry 8200, 8113, 8955HPDUS, Reuters,
-  MX Blacks    :  Cherry NCR G80-0528, G80-0879, G80-0904, 1000HAD, 1501HAD, 1800HAG, 2551HAD, TG3, 11900,
-  MX Clears   :  Cherry G80-8113, G80-9009HAU Reuters, New Stock MX Clear SWs, etc

-  MX SW Lub Guide   http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=34332.0

I fix the quack issue by repositioning the springs in the SWs, making it sure 'Not' to touch the center column,
turning some degrees of angle inside SWs (check the spring coil cut position, I changed it by 90 degrees),
and finally I add very small amount of Krytox 104 oil to the inner side of springs. (I prefer the minimal lubrications, so my solution is limited)
And some enough Typing for 1-2 hours may help reducing the quack, as I found.

The ping noise when you release the switches(I mean the original stock SWs), there are some solutions suggested by others,
I guess I am not in a proper position for that, because I am used to some pining and not bothered, with mine or Cherry stock springs.
There are reports, as I know,  Some thin Alu plates may increse pinging sound.
Hope more Reports and Tips for that Ping issue !   We have lots of experienced members for the Lub.     Let's fix it together!   ;)

Thanks Sprit, yes I did mean to type Krytox 104! I've corrected that now. With regards to some people mentioning ping...I've noticed that a few (very few 3-4 out of 87 I used so far) 62g springs creak a tiny bit on the upstroke. It doesn't bother me at all and it really isn't that much. Still fantastic springs IMO. I have 55g and 65g to test in the coming weeks. I also would say that I use a "minimal" lubing method.

I avoided the creaking by rotating and repositioning the springs inside, so that they didn't scratch against any plastic. I think creaking and pinging are different (one is scratching sound, the other is a resonating "tuning fork" sound).

update for EU / WORLDWIDE Round 1 orders

It has been over 2 weeks since I shipped everything from Round 1. Nobody has complained so I'll assume everybody got his springs.

Round 2 orders are on their way to me. I expect to get them this week and will ship them the very next day :)

I'm on the fence.

Should I mod my clears with 62g or 65g? I can't decide.

Received my 62's and built a new ergo clear ErgoDox with them.  Greatest typing experience ever.  Much thanks!

update for EU / WORLDWIDE

Hey guys,

I shipped all of the Round 2 orders today.

Just like last time:

It should take max. 10 days for these shipments to be delivered. If you don't receive your springs within the next 2 weeks please contact me. I have a tracking number for everyone, but it's not automated. I'd prefer not to provide it for every single order unless there is a problem. The thing is I'd have to manually check which code belongs to which order, prepare a PM and copy a string of letters and numbers by hand each time. If I do this for every order it's a lot of time.

Status for Round 2 orders

100% = Shipped
    0% = Delivered
    0% = Confirmed Complete

Sprit are there any leftovers from this GB? Send me a PM if that's the case! :)
Very busy with studies atm.

Okay, well it is all done for US orders. On Friday or Saturday I am going to message everyone who didn't respond in this thread saying they got their stuff to be sure everything is alright.

In the end, it looks like my shipping costs were pretty spot on, no refunding is needed, I broke even, maybe lost 10-15 dollars on this, but that is all good  :))

In that case, I guess I will post that I got my springs a couple of days ago.  Thanks sprit for running this and thanks HPE1000 for proxying!
