Plate choice: Aluminum vs. FR4
« on: Sun, 24 October 2021, 22:18:10 »
This is with Durock Lavender (F+L) switch.
I've ordered both aluminum and FR4 plates for Frog TLK and obviously I'll be using only one of them.
Which plate do you think complements Lavender on the Frog TKL better ?

Mounted on aluminium.  (I'm not sure if I'll be bothered to desolder for FR4 plate)
Feels and sounds nice.

I like alu, although FR4 introduces a little bit more of that "clacky" sound signature while providing a slightly softer bottom out. Personal preference, you can always try both or try one switch  :D

I bought POM plate for my Frog - of course it will come with standard alu plate, but was wondering which to use. I picked POM plate and soft tad poles to get nice and soft like kbd67lite feeling.

isnt kbd67 lite super stiff? typing on mine rn and the only flex you get is from the rubber feet compressing, are you talking about the bottom out feel?
