Got IMSTO's red silicone o-rings in both sizes to test out!  3 weeks on the dot :)

Conclusion: The fat large red silicone o-rings are quite good on metal keys and keys with long stems and no support.  The skinny  silicone rings do close to no dampening / travel reduction.  Practically unnoticeable vs. Amazon 50A o-rings, which are only slightly thicker, but are very good at dampening the bottom out sound for OEM keys.  I'll try them on DSA Retro keycaps, but very underwhelmed so far.

New laptop to accompany me on my research placement over summer/to be my lab assistant during my masters project next year:

11.6" screen, 8GB DDR3, Core i5-3230M and a 650m. Slightly saddened to say that it's more powerful than the desktop I built a few years ago :\

Yup and he was great about responding to PMs and such. He sent out the package the same day i bought it. I recommend buying from him. Hopefully the sanctuary set does not tarnish his rep too badly.

Got a Poker II w/ browns and a Leopold FC210TP w/ blues from qtan (will post pics later).  The 210TP is sweet.  Plate-mounted, thickish PBT caps, compact design, I love it for my work (having Esc, Tab, =, and Backspace keys above the numlock row is something of a revelation as well).  The poker II is very well put together and fun, but the layout isn't something I want to use for work, as I'm something of an excel poweruser and the poker II's requirement of pressing the FN key for access to both arrows and pg up/pg dn is tricky - because I frequently need to press those keys plus ctrl/shift at the same time.  Everything I need to do is possible, but for now it's slowing me down.

Will I need these fingers to type on them? My pinky and ring finger needed muscle fingers for greens. I wonder how much stiffer these are~
