The acrylic case consists of totally 5 layers, white and transparent, as shown in these pictures. The middle white layer is also the plate.

Here's how my poker 2 looks now, I vinyl dyed the spacebar charcoal grey, which looks more black actually, and burgundy on the mods. I mighttt paint the rest of the keys charcoal grey, but I'm not sure yet. I'll stick with this for awhile to see how it goes.

The tab is kind of dirty, but I cleaned it already, don't worry :p

I haven't seen a successful dye in a while. That crimson color looks awesome.

What do you mean it was "vinyl dyed"? Is this the same type as RIT dye or dying cloths?

Using thin abs to snap photo is back idea back then.

Stock PBT ftw.

Nice! LEds are cool. Is there a resource or guide anywhere on how to install them?

Liquid or dissolved powder dye? Did you stir or do anything special to get them that homogenous? Length of soak?

I have 2 of them on the way. I was curious what as DIY. I understand now that this is in regards to the desoldering/resoldering of all the switches and the other work required to transfer the poker into the case.

I was thinking maybe it was a hardwired poker without a pcb....
this is my next project as long as the switches plate mount into Alixinhzai''s case firmly and do not wobble without the extra metal plate. I will have to wait and see.

That's a spray can? How many coats did you use and how is it holding up? Do you feel like it would fade after a while? I am thinking about getting a set of white ABS keys and custom dying them. I don't want to spend $16 on dyes and it not work well. Thanks!

I don't think ABS dyes very well usually. People use PBT for that.

Its a spray can, that s hoots out vinyl dye. Cool huh?
You can do 2-4 coats, depending on how light coats you did. I recommend lightest as you can with full coverage. Its kind of hard to get the hang of. I don't think they fade. But when I painted using it it left some white residue, probably a result of improper cleaning of oils on the plastic. So make sure to clean it up good. If you have white residue, get a microfiber cloth and soapy water and rub the white residue and it should go away after awhile.

Traffic light cake?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

every most poker lately is a unicorn or loaded with novelty caps. not a bad thing but i love the simple uniform looks.

my poker hasn't been used in like 2 months though it will get some attention when i get the acrylic case for it, whenever the hell that happens....--i just really hope i don't break any traces when de-soldering off the switches for the third time.

Trick or Treat. My daily driver for October is getting closer.

The case is an acrylic from ALI. The quality seems good I'm quite happy with what I have seen so far. There is no PCB inside so the spacebar may appear a little crooked.

Yeah, it's pretty hard to capture the color correctly. They aren't really metallic, just gray.

I would disagree...If you look at them compared to a regular grey cap they have more luster, and the also have some swirling effect

Got my Poker II from i3oilermaker!

First impressions:
*These mx reds are scratchy!
*DIP switch is a little off-center.
*These mx reds are almost as heavy as the mx blacks in my Filco! (That's a good thing).
*My custom cable is broken. :(
*OMG why is the right side of the space bar flashing?
*Oh, it was in programming mode.
*Wow, there are some really nice features programmed in!
*I love the program layers on this; selling Filco!
*Board is heavy and doesn't rock or flex!
*How do I mod it? :O

Got my Poker II from i3oilermaker!

First impressions:
*These mx reds are scratchy!
*DIP switch is a little off-center.
*These mx reds are almost as heavy as the mx blacks in my Filco! (That's a good thing).
*My custom cable is broken. :(

Scratchy? Is it that noticeable?

That doesn't sound right.

Some Cherry switch batches are very scratchy brand new--I've experienced a few keyboards like that.

They do smooth out with use, so I don't really mind.
