Over the next day or two I’m gonna work on a concept of what I have in mind and see what everyone thinks. Hopefully everyone likes it and I can send it to the manufacturer to a get a quote in order. It seems like there is a lot of interest and we should be able to reach the MOQ. I plan to do things in the old style where ppl sign up then invoice etc. I need to make sure I can do it without getting PayPal locked down as well.

So we've kind of looked at the outside of the case (logo, etc.) How about inside? Things like netting for cables, elastic straps, integrated padding etc.?

As an example, this is how I would love to store and carry my TKLs.

I like that a lot actually. Ill send the pic over and ask if they can do something like that for this case.

I'm in for two TKLs. Would prefer minimal decoration/logo. Maybe a Velcro patch (like goruck bags) so people can customize?

I can get behind this. I would still like to incorporate gh colors and zipper pulls, but velcro would allow more options.

Here is an image of the foam I just received.

They said that they cut the foam themselves, but will ask about smaller cutouts for more control over sizing.

They said that this is one of their cases, so take it with a grain of salt. They said they can do something similar with a flap, but will cost extra for prototyping costs. Overall would be under a dollar per case. Here is a sample image they sent along with it.

The 48x20 is the largest case they offer. I’m sure they can do bigger but they would need new molds which probably be beyond this gb. Maybe something to consider for the future though.

I am currently trying to iron out details on the case and will hopefully have a quote soon, as well as images that I can start a GB. I will shoot them these pictures and see if they are familiar with the design.

I think 60/65 would be good, as long as it's large enough to also fit 68 keys like the fc660c/m/clueboard etc

Would be in for one only if there is a foam option that fits 60% or 65% snugly. I have the aforementioned OTD EVA case and while it fits TKL's perfectly, 60% boards slide around in it. A big empty cavity is definitely not a one-size-fits-all.

Just wanted to post a quick update on all of this. Manufacturer is on break for CNY. That coupled with communication issues, I want to reach out to US manufacturers and see what they can do with pricing etc. Ill update this thread with any news I get.

Not dead, but not much movement. Have reached out to a few other manufacturers, but information is slow coming. I may just go back to the first manufacturer and work around their products. I was hoping to have more customization than what they offer, but its not looking like thats going to happen.

Im pretty busy through the end of March, and halfway into April. Hopefully i can finalize details by the end of April and go from there.

I don't think anyone will really care if there are no customization options available, embossment, colors, etc. plain black boring case that fits a keyboard for under $20 is all anyone is really after. I'll reiterate that I think 60/65/68% is the way to go for this case!

I would definitely be interested in at least a 2-3 bags/cases! Not terribly worried about logo/design, though I am partial to the dimpled/circles in a grid design.

I personally don't care if the cases are big enough to fit up to 96/104/1800 layouts, but if they could fit up to 80%/TKL that would be awesome for TKL and 75% boards I have.

I was speaking with a friend recently and I think having a somewhat no frills design with a small Velcro loop area on the top would be nice. Then maybe run some patches for that area alongside the GB or after.

Also working on getting more details from the original manufacturer for colors and material. I’ve pooped in a native Chinese speaker that will hopefully be able to better help the communication get sorted.

Hopefully this can progress soon. I’ll let everyone know when I get info.
