Author Topic: Will trackpoint + rotary encoder + pro micro + prebuilt keyboard work?  (Read 9676 times)

So the idea is this:
Connect the rotary encoder and trackpoint (salvaged from an old lenovo laptop) to a pro micro.
Then flash the pro micro (so that the rotary encoder works) and connect it and the keyboard pcb on a small usb hub (NanoHub).

So there will only be one cable from the keyboard (NanoHub) into the laptop.

Are there any flaws with the plan? I'm new to both the keyboard community and don't have a lot of experience when it comes to electrical components. Help would be appreciated!  :D

It sounds like you are just having a
[trackpoint, rotary encoder pad] plus [keyboard] connected to a hub, so assuming you could write firmware for everything to work, sounds fine
