Any possibility of getting Filco Majestouch 2 with Cherry Browns?

Not even the Keyboard Company (the supplier of Filco keyboards in the US) can get them.  There is a Cherry Brown switch shortage right now.

I just bought one from them.  Their website currently says "lots in stock".  Took about three or four business days from the UK to California.

http://www.keyboardco.com/keyboard_details.asp?PRODUCT=623

 - Ron | samwisekoi

I've checked their site and have seen them have them in stock, but its a bit pricey to get it imported from the UK. I've been checking Amazon regularly, but they don't seem to have had any in stock for a while so I'm hoping some of the other mechanical keyboard e-retailers are able to get some.

Don't count on it anytime soon in the US (from 'another' e-tailer that is).

Keyboard Co controls US Filco inventory from their office in Europe and 'fills' orders via Amazon in the US. Inventory is shipped directly from Taiwan to Amazon. There is no real US distributor of Filco, but Filcos are distributed In the US by a 3rd party fulfillment proxy. Confused yet?

We've tried. It wasn't possible at the time, but I'm optimistic common / business sense will eventually prevail at Diatec. It's just a matter of when.

Re: Grey Ducky

I'd love to get some in.  I'll check.

Also,

Now that Matias is developing the Quiet Tactile and Clicky switches can you communicate to Ducky that it would be nice to have a 9087 level board with these switches?  Currently there are no high quality tenkeyless Alps keyboards - especially with PBT - on the market.  These new switches also take LED's on every switch unlike the ones Ducky uses.

If that is not possible would how about 1087XM / 1008XM "barebones" kits - basically what they sell now except no switches are included - these can be sourced from Matias or older boards.

I don't know what Ducky's current stance is on Alps - but they've already got most of the tooling there - it would be a shame to discontinue it with the new Matias switches.

Agreed on all points.

I'm pretty sure Ducky quit developing the ALPS boards completely. I haven't tried to order any recently because we still have dozens in stock that we got in about a year ago (they don't sell well - hence the discontinuation by Ducky).  No one really 'trusts' ALPS switches - customers want Cherry (and Topre if they can afford it).  Hopefully Matias will be the exception but it will likely take time.

I'll run the idea by Ducky and see what they think.

Barbones kits also sound cool, but it's a slim chance.  I've run the idea by them before and it wasn't well received.

We're always trying to negotiate to get what few MX Green, Grey, White, Clear, etc. keyboards exist.  Typically, the 10 - 20 that we are able to get are the ONLY inventory a given manufacturer has.

Re: Hard to look through 100 keyboards

I'm working on developing a ton of new features for the site - one of which will address this (part of why I haven't been on GH in forever - also Facebook seems to be the 'goto' update venue lately - I feel like a traitor, sorry)

We simply lack the manpower required to do everything we want to do - e.g. further develop site features, add content, add keyboards, add accessories, etc. etc.

This being said, I would like to reach out to the Geekhack community for help.  I'm going to start a new thread and see if anyone's interested.

Do you have any idea of when the Ducky boards with Clear switches will be available (if at all)? I've seen them on some Scandinavian Ducky importers' shops, so I know Ducky must be starting to ship them out.

Not enough demand...

However, with Matias and some others becoming more popular, we could see a shift where some manufacturers consider making ALPS cap sets.

I'm going to be purchasing a TKL board off of your site in the very near future.

I know it will be something with cherry blacks.

So far one of the following boards...

http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=183

http://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=201

I'm just wondering if there is anything coming in soon that I should wait for?

Any chance on a Vortex KBT Race with Cherry Blacks and white LED? Restocking soon?

Thanks!

I've been harassing them for a while, and still zero response.  More than likely a language issue or limited supply.

As far as White LED Vortex - they haven't shown any Pure / Poker stock lately.  I think Chinese New Year slowed everything down quite a bit.  It does look like just about every brand we carry is bringing something new for Q2, so we should have a lot more to offer then.

I will look into these Phantom PCBs as I saw them mentioned elsewhere as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but only CM can ship mx green boards. Thus you may see Clear and White in North America, but not green. but hey, wouldn't be the first time I was happily mistaken.

If you are interested in importing something very special and impossible to find anywhere (except Australia - very expensive shipping) - I'd suggest contacting Leopold (Korea.)

Over a year ago they released the FC700R - a successor to the FC200R.  While EliteKeyboards owns the distribution rights for Leopold products perhaps Leopold has gotten tired of EK not selling this new board and losing market share to competitors.  They might make an exception that will allow you to only carry the FC700R;  Perhaps, allowing you to carry it as long as EK doesn't put in an order.

In particular I would like a FC700R w/ Black switches, White or Gray case, and Blank keycaps.

EliteKeyboards: if you are reading this - it's nothing personal.  Some of us just want to buy this keyboard - that's it.  There is an old saying: Crap or get off the pot.

I would like clear switches too, on a Ducky Shine II with white LEDs.

I doubt those exclusive US distribution rights would apply to Asian-oriented makers like Ducky.
