I just thought Punks posted the links here for giggles, and that it was Ripster selling them. Any buyer can then claim the photos were messed with or something if the seller isn't ripster with timestamped proof.

People sure take eBay links to some extremes.

Nah, "Member Auction Links" is a place to put your own auctions. And I'm pretty sure Ripster's eBay username isn't "chadhipster" and he doesn't live in South Amboy, NJ.

I used to try and advocate for the selling of artisan caps at retail prices or very slight markup, but that was a losing battle I gave up on long ago.

People can do whatever they want.

Why complain?

1. Auction is hosted on eBay, so buyer and seller are protected. Hopefully no shill bidding would happen, and winning bid always = (next highest bid) + (bid increment).
2. Bidding is open, but confidential.
3. Auction starting prices were reasonable. Market will work out what the sell prices end up being.
4. Open to public bidding, not limited to a certain community's members.
5. His property to do with as he wishes.

You have to admit, when people put artistans up on eBay trying to sell it for over retail people get hyper-sensitive about it. Yet that has not occurred here. I assume because people don't feel as comfortable speaking out against Punks as they would someone on Reddit, or someone with very few posts doing it. Or maybe they don't see an issue with it because they "know" Punks, as opposed to someone else.

My jimmies are unrustled regardless.

People may get hyper-sensitive about it but yet they still buy them.

I have not seen anyone here sell a clack for retail.

Capitalism, Supply and Demand, Novelty Factor.

The caps wont go for cheap, people need to move on.

Win one, Trade for one or buy one. All you can do.

I sincerely hope nobody censors themselves in fear of repercussion, that's not cool or fun. I personally would never hold a grudge if someone chewed me or friends out. I'll say some slick **** back, but that's it, it's not serious, it's not gonna ruin my day.

I've never sold a Clack but I have traded them lopsidedly in the other person's favor. It happens plenty often.

I've also purchased clacks at retail. And sold other rare caps at retail. It's not unheard of by any means.

I agree. But it's easy to say when you're on the protected side.

As an artisan, and a person people here like.. you basically have free reign to do as you please with little to no repercussions (as long as you don't violate the rules of the site). You'll always have people kissing your ass in hopes of getting something in return. Enjoy it I guess.

The only cap I've ever sold I sold at retail. I can understand why some may sell older, rarer caps (or limited variants) at double, maybe triple the price, but to sell a more standard release seems kinda bogus.
A standard cap to me would be a version of a cap that was produced in "mass" quantities (though obviously still limited in terms of artisan limitations). That Rustler that was sold for $200, supposedly, now that rustled my jimmies.

I was speaking generally.  There have been instances recently, but I don't think that pointing them out will solve anything.  I should have left well enough alone, and I apologize for driving this thread any further from the initial topic.
